i need a free file converter that is easy to use so i can put stuff ive downloaded of the net straight onto dvd so i can watch them on my dvd player at home

If your going to burn avi files to a DVD just use Nerovision express, it will convert the avi program & burn it to DVD.
Remember most DVD players only work with DVD-R.

best route in the long run is get a dvd player that plays divx,mpeg4,mpeg2,mpeg1,svcd,vcd,dvd,wal-mart has a philips for $57. bucks and they have a cheaper one,but i have had two philips for about a year that way i put 4-5 movies on one data dvd and watch them on my tv with out any quality lost or try the vso until you get one it is a good convertor
