Ok so don't yell at me for how stupid this might be.

But lately I'm getting much more paranoid about what a normal stool looks like. For example, this morning, my stool looked normal but sometimes the bowels would shoot out fast (but still formed) and I still feel like I'm having diarrhea mixed in with a normal bowel movement. Is this possible?

Or is diarrhea much more obvious and should not be mixed in with normal, formed bowels?

What does a normal stool mean to you? Is it ok if some bowels come out faster and are not long and thick like some other ones?

I apologize in advance for the oddity of this question...

Normal means being regular. The look and form is decided by what you eat as long as you are healthy otherwise.

Just make sure you eat sufficient fiber in your diet and drink plenty of water and your stool should be well formed.

Good luck.

Bowel movements depend on the amount of liquid and sugars, fiber, etc. Diarrhea is runny, liquid stool either caused by diet or sometimes by a disease...eat green apples and you will have diarrhea. If the stool is formed, then it this is not diarrhea, but your diet will regulate the firmness of the stool...leafy vegetables tend to cause looser stool....but a diet of a lot of meat tend to firm the stool and some foods will bind, and even cause constipation. Eat a healthy diet...and all should be well. I will add a single comment more, it is good to observe the stool, as the color, texture and nature are indications of health.

NORMAL STOOLS
this is a very much relevant and (not jokingly ) important topic
so u dont need to feel odd
i can certainly give u a proper solution to this problem having no side effects at all
in case of diarrhoea the very first remedy is WATER
drink plenty of water as your body lacks the same in such case
hydro therapy will certainly work
it will not only help in dirrhoea but improve or regularise ur bowels
take a teaspoon of TRIFALLA powder with lukewarm water before going to bed daily it will have 100% result
if u have time do stomach exercises like KAPAALBHATI PRANAYAM regularly (only after learning it from a trainer)
try getting up early
dont go for heavy foods
may take supplementary diet like fresh fruits , soups before meals etc.
be active
go for regular health check ups
u will not only be able 2 solve this problem but remain healthy
:) wish u a healthy life :)

There really isn't much of a "normal" stool. Everybody is different, so your poop is different too. It depends on your system and what you eat. If I eat Mexican food, I better get to a toilet like within 10 minutes after eating, but it doesn't affect alot of other people. And yes diarrhea can be mixed with more formed stool. If you have gas in your system it can tend to shoot out your poop.

Why is this so concerning to you?

Is there a family history of colon cancer?

Everyone's stool changes some daily, depending on what you eat, how much fiber and water you have, etc.

If it's painful, or consistantly watery or extremely foul smelling, dark or tarry or you see blood in it...consult your doctor. How fast it comes out doesn't make it "diarrhea"

Diarrhea is 3 or more loose stools in day,

If you are really wanting big, formed stools daily, increase your fiber intake

Hi girlfriend - you will be pleased to know that there is no regulation size or shape. Like wise bowel movements do not have to be like giving birth to baby elephants!!! It entirely depends on your diet. Smooth bowel performance although quick is normal.

If however you are experiencing pain or discomfort then - visit your local Dr just to be sure.

best wishes for happy pooping

Helen

no you care about your health and your own personal well being, it's not a stupid question in the least bit, but I am going to tell you this from the get go, don't take health advice from people on Yahoo, talk to a doctor if it really concerns you, people can give all the advice in the world on here, the best advice anyone can give you when it comes to your health is to go see a doctor

poop is poop. On the days that you feel that your poop is coming out faster..you might be drinking more water or eating more fiber. What we eat andwhat we drink determines what we poop. Normal is relative. If you have concerns, go and speak with a doctor.
