I'm 26, F, not overweight, have been exercising for about 6 or so months now several times a week, dont smoke, dont drink, never had kids. Not stressed. My boyfriend seems to think my heart rate is too high, especially since we've been working out. My heart rate went to 150 just from walking to his truck and getting in before we went to workout.

Why do you measure your heartbeat while doing little things like that?

I think either you are an alien or the measuring thing's gone stupid

If your heartrate is over 140 bpm while at rest you more than likely have clinical high blood pressure. This condition is genetic and inherited. My father and grandfather both had it, and at 26 my standing bpm is 138 (I'm in great shape too, so fitness/stress level has little to do with it) and I need to get tested every 6 mons to ensure I'm not at risk. I would consult your health care provider and explain your concerns, there are medications that you can take that will control this problem and they are well tested and proven with little to no side effects. If left untreated this can lead to a higher chance of heart disease/heart attack or kidney problems. The test is a simple blood pressure exam that is painless and takes 10mins. Get checked!

Yes, that's extremely high. I'm 24, an ex-smoker, ex-drinker, not overweight, and I can hardly get my heart rate up that high at all. Usually after 20 minutes of running, it's only 180 or so. You might want to see a doctor about that.

first what a would do is sit somewhere and do nothing (watching TV is ok) for 10 min then take your heart rate then walk for 10 min and check again. the mean resting heart rate is 70 bpm (beats per min). and doing 10 min of walking should only raise it by only 30 bpm to between 90 to 120 bpm and if it turns out that it goes from 90bpm to 175bpm roughly then you have problem and consult your doctor

A personal trainer would tell you to keep your heart rate between 60-85% of your theoretical maximum. Which for your age is 150-180 bpm. Lower your intensity to stay below 180 and you'll still burn a large amount of fat and carbs and stay safe.

I think you need to be checked by a cardiologist to make sure there isn't something wrong. You could be having SVT (supraventricular tachycardia). Are you getting lightheaded when your heart rate is so fast... when you are working out, is there a health station there that they could check your blood pressure? Don't wait, make an appointment to see either your doctor or a cardiologist.

Well, what is your resting heartrate? Maybe it is higher to begin with. My heartrate is kinda high, but I am fat, so I just figure it's that. I don't know, other than if you just have a high heart rate.
