I grew up watching the latter part of Jack's career and I'm a big Jack fan. I like Tiger, but don't like his behavior of throwing clubs and tantrums with the galleries at times. I don't know if Tiger has the same level of quality competition Jack had either. It seems everybody chokes when they have a chance to beat Tiger.

So I don't know if I want to spend my time rooting against Tiger or for him. Against is negative and not healthy. I think I'll start rooting for him, even though I don't want him to break Jack's record, it's still history and he probably is the best ever.

whether we want him to have the most major wins or not, he's gonna do it - he's a lock - he will not rest until he has secured his legacy - Jack was a class act and a gentleman but he was 1 of like 4 super good golfers in his day - there are so many good golfers today that anyone can contend on Sunday most weeks - Tiger is the man and none of us can stop him

I want Tiger to beat Jack, but not until he's 40, so we can still ask the question for a while.

dude, everyone has their own idols growing up, obviously you're one of those in the golden eras and most of us from the modern era which is of course Tiger's. Everyone has their own type of attitude when it comes to venting frustrations. Nowadays with the more openess when it comes to expression - even the things you dont see with Jack and Arnold's rivalry nowadays you can definitely appreciate (the entertainment), between Tiger and Lefty..... well to answer your question - no doubt about it Tiger's the Greatest in this generation and I am pulling for him to go above 18.

I'd like to see Tiger pass Jack. In time I expect Tiger to mellow.
Remember Jack was not well like early in his career either.
As with most sports, it is hard to compare different generations.

I agree with the first poster - since Tiger is the great golfer of MY generation I support him.

Also, in my opinion, the very reason other players choke when they have a chance to beat Tiger is *because* he's so great - they crumble because of his reputation.

I'm young, and I never really got to see Jack play. Tiger is just kind of our Jack, so I always pull for him.
