My grandfather is 71 years old. When he was smoking, he was breathless a lot, let me tell you. I am not sure if he had a fast pulse like you, though. A fast pulse all the time is not normal. Smoking certainly does not help your heart or your lungs. In your heart, it can cause heart disease and high blood pressure, leading a way for a heart attack. This has been proven. You could have high blood pressure, which can be serious. I would go to the doctor as soon as possible because heart problems are nothing to fool around with. Just try reducing stress until you can visit a doctor. I have found websites that have reasons why hearts beat up to 60-100 times a minute.

My son (28 years old) has a fast pulse and high blood-pressure. I told him go to the doctor. That is what I am going to do with you......Go and get a check-up real soon. A healthy person usually has a pulse rate of 70 or under, my doctor said. Mine is 65, and I don't smoke or drink. My son does. I have tried to get him to quit but he's a grown man and does what he wants no-matter what I tell him. Please go the doctor and find out why your pulse rate is that high!!!!!
