People in Congress care about their perks and their nice little retirement pension and their free health care for life.
Maybe a few care about our borders but they're awfully quiet about it.

I think Congress knows we are mad, but the senators have more globalists amongst their ranks and want to 'spin' our anger as if we want exactly what they want and are angry at the House for stopping the Senate Bill. Me, I think the Senate Bill is horrible, and am very pleased with the House for stopping it. The House has no votes in the Senate and can't pass a bill on their own. Moreover, Bush has put a cute line in his web page that says how he wants a 'comprehensive' approach and that he hopes the Congress will give him a Bill he can sign. I suspect he was hinting that he would veto one if he didn't like it. I also suspect most people think that refers to amnesty, but I think it refers to a guest worker program. With the current line up, we can't pass a specific bill.
However, the border already had security measures including a short amount of fencing approved that hadn't been implemented, and the National Guard is at least working on those sections of fencing. Enforcement is slightly up (although it is clear they aren't trying because they still aren't deporting even all of those in jails when they finish their sentence, which is where they should START.) Accordingly, this is an area where doing 'something' could be much worse than doing nothing. It is certainly better than the Senate Bill.
Then we have to vote.

I think they're playing with their food, and afraid to make a real decision on it, because there's been conflicting talk about what to really do, here, the advocacy groups want the doors flung wide, the TRUE conservatives want the illegals out, and they're waffling around in there and not listening to the voters very intently on this one...my view, and I think the view of many is that illegal immigration is a problem, and it's a problem that's compounded by conflicts of interest, if there was no money involved there'd be no illegal immigration. Since politicians like to get that money, it's easy to see how they'd be of two minds on immigration enforcement. What they don't realize, though, is that the whole mess is a net LOSS for the country, because there's 4 bucks in red ink for every dollar they think they're making off the deal. Of course if your OBJECTIVE is to come up with more reasons to spend deficit money...hmmm...I wonder... LOL

Yes, I believe they are extremely aware of it. They are not stupid. Why?
Well, this is an unusual thing we're seeing. Liberals and conservatives alike have gone in together on this. Both parties will make money. That is, the rich, will become richer. The poor will stay poor, and the middle class will only be paying more taxes, increasing their workload, for less profit-- making it very hard to build their business or succeed within the high-middle to low-high class.
It's not that Congress isn't aware of what's going on. It's the fact they know damn well what the original conclusion was by accepting illegals...
Illegals will basically work as slave laborers, at extremely low wages. This is good for rich people of course, but it causes the middle class to once again shoulder the burden. The poor, not only stays poor, but possibly loses out by becoming poorer. Less jobs will be open and / or lower wages will be offered with no workers comp or any type of employee benefits.
Illegals don't care about benefits-- well they do-- but they can't do anything about it, unless of course they want to chance themselves being cought.
I also strongly believe that Congress-- when receiving this "theory" of the final outcome, involving their profits, didn't actually think about an uproar from the American people. Either that or they didn't even think about the country's citizens.
Either way, they do now for sure! I think Congress and the entire admin know they made a mistake with Mexico concerning NAFTA and CAFTA. But, they aren't going to admit to it. NAFTA was in fact suppost to control illegal immigration in the United States. But, they miscalculated the estimates before this all came about in the mid '90's by not focusing on their agriculture industry in Mexico.
The lack of it's growth in Mexico pushed many people over the edge-- and this has produced a domino effect on the United States. There was a large decrease of supply in agriculture in Mexico, which led to no jobs. So, a lot of this has to do with NAFTA.
It would probably be best if we abolished NAFTA. They're next big adventure involves a superhighway straight through the U.S. to the Northern ports of Canada. And guess who's paying for that? Surely not Mexico-- or Canada! The U.S. of course.
But to get back on track.. Congress knows, the admin knows-- But for all these misinterpretations whilest planning everything, they underestimated the citizens. I believe they thought that we would not recognize, or that'd it'd be another "Iraq" topic, and slowly drift away until ....whenever.
So, right now, I know they know! I think they're scared. Which is why they aren't saying/ doing anything about it. Instead, individual states are taking care of "their" states-- "their cities/ towns," because they too, know that the majority of the public isn't taking it too lightly.
I also think that the federal government fears it's own National Security, as whatever they say, must go-- but, before the illegals go, they will be rioting the streets. Crime out the ***, and who knows how long it'll take to take back control and keep chaos from reality.
Then again, there is the American people... 250 million voices... That's poses a much larger threat as the government can possibly be overthrown as accusations are waived that the country is performing acts against National Security and / or corruption.
I'm not saying this is what's going on. But I read articles, write to congressman, and feel I am at large, in the middle of one of the biggest conspiracies to destroy this nation.
I can't give you a time limit. But this is only the beginning-- as much of the issues will begin to merge with others and broaden when it's time to go to the polls.
I just keep reminding myself to stay armed; to lock 'n load. Because two enemies are possible. 1) Mexico.. or what is pro-activists and 2) Our own government. Maybe even both if they gang up.. But, by that time, the U.N. would be here, and the rest of the world would most likely favor against Bush and the admin.
The only thing funny about this, is that the military isn't going to commit genocide on it's own people. That's retarded. And, most definately, the politicians will have to fight! But, what you wanna bet, they all run like b!tches!

HAHAHA...excuse me for laughing but the congress is illiterate and indifferent, and combined with apathy on the part of the voters...nothing is going to happen except to find an easy way to get rid of 11,000,000 people. I sympathize with the illegals to the extent that their lives are tough both there and here...but they have to make their own leaders responsible as we need to do the same. Think now that if we have so many illegals, they have been flowing (or flooding) over the border for a long time, and there are three federal agencies given the duty to prevent that...the Border Patrol, the FBI and the Homeland Security....isn't it strange that illegals slip over but terrorists can't??? The DEA supposedly is charged with stopping illegal drugs but since Mexico supplies 90% of the drugs...isn't it strange that bombs or weapons can't also be slipped across the border? Who is the fool?....WE ARE for allowing such idiots to control our lives, make money from us and do nothing.

Yes, I believe they're aware of the American anger. But it never hurts to write your congressman and senators. And it's easy too using their dot gov sites.
Why aren't they doing anything? What makes you think they're really representing you, anyway.I think these conservative Republicans tend to represent business which likes having illegals who work for cheap and the Hispanics who are an increasing part of the electorate, as you've noticed.
