The bible is a good book, but it's not full of the truth because it's been poorly translated. The Ten Commandments were a good a idea and should be kept, but written by man to control man kind. You don't need a story book to spread the word of God, but do some research first find out some of the facts the are not in the bible, I'll give you an example The Virgin Mary, that was poorly translated from Hebrew, and should have read Young Woman, there was noting about a Virgin in the true text. But try and convince the church of that.
But to answer the question yes it would be wrong, but if you are that hard up that you can not buy one then ask for one in Church because they should give you one for nothing as they are suppose to be God, not man's to give. God forgives all sins, and if your reason was stealing the bible was true, then no i do not believe God would punish you.
Don't worry about religion that is man made, all you need is faith in God.

It is most definitely wrong to steal "fullstop".
But tell me why would you steal something that you can get for free?
If you did become a model Christian then after studying the bible you would return it and acquire a free one. See any pastor or church leader for a copy. All you need to do is ask.
I dont think God would punish you as you say as He allows you to ask for forgiveness and as long as you are genuinely repentent, He will forgive.
Think about the person you stole it from. Did you deprive them of a way to a Christian way of life.
I think God would not be pleased IF this was the case, Don't you?

I think you are genuinly seeking God. Yes it is wrong to steal, no matter what it is that a person steals. However, by putting your Faith in Jesus Christ and He is in your life, you will automatically know it is wrong.
Many Christians and Churches will gladly give you or anyone a Bible, there is really no excuse. But by living with Christ in your life, then you will have that personal experience, which you alone will know Jesus, and he will guide you in doing what is right or wrong. I don't think God would punish you, but only if you truly repented of this sin and owned up to it. God would bless you for this.
Also remember the ten commandments were the foundation of our law, Christ gave us a new commandment, to Love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul, and to love your neighbour as yourself. Follow this and you will be in no doubt as to what is the difference between right and wrong.

Hello Anon, and can i just say first i have enjoyed your many poems, which seem to be strategically spread through my collection of Anthologies.
Well stealing is wrong if its the crown jewels or a bible. How ever the point of the 10 commandments was to show that we are sinners and can't be perfect, as i understand it. So there was a need for a hero to fulfil perfection for us so we could get back fellowship with GOD. The only thing was that this Hero had to fulfil certain criteria. He had to be both GOD AND MAN. he had to be perfect and without sin and some other stuff, otherwise NON of us could get back into fellowship with God. Because no one is perfect and no one fulfils the criteria needed. So we have to be in Christ who is the bridge,,,,,, errrrrm or you could say he's like Noah's Ark, we have to be inside him to get to the destination and the 10 commandments are the storm. OK I KNOW IT WAS LONG WINDED i int a orator is i!!!!! mwha ha ha though ANON, cos you amused me no end and so have all the answers. I laughed so much me teeth fell out

If the entire moral framework of the Bible were adhered to, there would not be 3 3 hundred and sixty 5 days olds ravenous at the same time as the Paris HIltons of the international ran round causing problem. The Mosaic code that protected "do no longer thieve" also protected regulations about searching after the unfavourable that "there'll be no unfavourable or hungry between you." With that reported, God seems upon the middle and weighs the intentions besides because the outward circumstances. (i'd ought to prepare right into a Scripture reduce-and-paster for those questions.)

I support both IN Atlanta & sosuna1025.
Stealing is wrong in act even you meant for good wanting to know more about GOD.
There is no reason to steal, if you ask, I believe most of the Christian brothers and sisters will lean or give you one.
What has been done cannot be undone. So hope you have true repentance to ask GOD for forgiveness. GOD the Father is gracious to forgive. Hope not to do anything like this again.
GOD bless

You can find a Bible in the library If you genuinely want to learn about Christianity...
you can get a FREE Bible from many sources...
If you steal a Bible, I think you are not really sincere about learning.

If you live your life as a "model" christian, you won't steal a bible or break his commandments, but if you do, you can ask for forgiveness. That is not a license to keep sinning, as the bible says you can sin unto death.

Time was when the Bible was to be found in every hotel room in the country. They were placed there in hopes that they WOULD be stolen and the thief would be led to Christ. Go to a hotel and find out if that's still true.
If not, then pick the church of your choice, speak to its pastor and let him GIVE you a Bible. Then join a Bible study course and listen, listen, listen!
Good luck.

Yes, it would be wrong.
There are so many locations and suppliers of free bibles around the world there would be no need to steal one when one could be given to you.
