He is probably an imposter! It is much more persuading when it comes from a "Muslim" than from a non-Muslim. Therefore this person pretends to be a Muslim, in order that his sayings will be more acceptable by the readers rather than be viewed as racist remarks!
e.g. When an Australian criticises English people it is not as acceptable as when an English person criticises English people.
Islam is a wonderful faith, and you can counter his words by writing about what Islam really is!

May be he wants to be recognized by his fellow westerners, so he says things about Islam. You know he will never be respected by them nor by us. A person who throws away his identity for the satisfaction of others; will end up being no where!
See what the westerners say about those types:

i feel sorry for him...it must be hard living in his small world all the time!
if he converted from islam fine we don't need him,,,but he should shut up & stop spreadin' all these lies 'bout our beautiful islam.
