Something is happening for sure. Not to mention global warming. This is the hottest summer on record. Each of the last 4-5 years have been the hottest year on record. See Al Gore's movie. Pretty scary.
However, I'm putting my money on the Mayan Calendar. It ends in 2012. That is supposed to be the date the doo doo hits the fan big time. That calendar is more accurate than the Gregorian Calendar, which is what most of the world keeps track of time with. (click on the link in the Know your source box it will take you to a yahoo search page with lots of sites on the Mayan Calendar)
I also think that some governments are trying to avoid the biblical Armaggedon battle and the end of the world as we know it by trying to control events in the Middle East.

If you are really concerned about the last days on Earth, you have a very good point. The answer is in the Bible. Jesus Christ told us about these events that were going to happen when He came. As did the prophets of the Old and New Testaments.
I think there is a website going to open concerning people who have genuine questions about God, whether it's for people who are inquisitive, for drink and drug addiction, well, I guess for anything. It will relate to God being the answer to all your needs.
If you want to continue our conversation, I would be only to glad to help you. I am a Born-again-Christian, and have faced near death experiences, and I know God is real, from the day I put my trust in the Lord, I have never been happier. But I must tell you again, reading the Bible, I believe, that yes, we are living in the last days. Christ could come at any time, so the sooner you decide to follow Christ, the better it will be for yourself. In the meantime I can offer you this particular helpline, pitcairn15@yahoo.co.uk

I don't believe so. We have always fought in history and it is just part of human nature. Don't keep on reading all kinds of prophecies because a lot of them have never come true. In order for everyone to die, there has to be a big nuclear war. Right now, we are talking to Iran trying to convince them not to get a nuclear bomb. If they did get a nuclear weapon, it would only be one; not enough to kill everyone on Earth. And people say the world will end in 2012. That is a common misconception. This claim is based on the way a special Mayn calender ends on December 21st, 2012 and 11:18 in the morning. This is simply just an end to a 400 year period. This is due to the Mayans abbreviating their dates. Also there is a prophet named Nostradamus who predicted the end of the wrold would happen in 1999. That whole year passed without incidence. Many of his followers say that he actually wrote the end of the world will occur in 3797. This prophet has made many predictions, with some sounding like they have come true. I don't really believe we are at the end of the world right now, but it will happen sometime, wheter it be 50 years or 5,000 years. Don't fret, be happy!

Well, does it really matter if we are, indeed, in our last days? The world is not as it was many years ago. We've been destroying it for so many years and continue to do so. With that said, I don't think there will be much to live for in the future (hundreds of years from now). Also, the Sun is going to be around for a few more billion years, so I think we might still have some time left. Maybe just enough time to make a change. But in the meantime, maybe we should all just chill out and enjoy whatever time we have left.

Every generation has believed that they are in the "Last Days." Certainly, when a people has to live through plague and famine as Europeans did during the Black Death, it is understandable that they would believe this.
We've lived through many, many major and minor wars which made us believe that we were living in the Last Days. When the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, what do you think the Japanese people believed? Jewish people living through the Holocaust certainly could have believed that they were in the Last Days. The Religious persecution in Mexico, not so long ago, made the Faithful believe that they were in the 'Last Days.'
People directly affected by 9-11 were certainly justified in believing that they were living in the 'Last Days.' And perhaps for them, it was true.
However, we are called to be a people of Faith and to persevere even in the face of adversity.
Be prepared by keeping the Faith. The Lord said, "Of that day and hour no one knows..."
Listen to the Lord, not to false prophets.

I don't think so. Look back in history - every century has faced its huge cataclysms and many a time have people had good reasons to believe that the end is nigh.
Indeed, if certain people didn't try so hard to make life on earth impossible, it would be much better for everyone, but I guess it's unavoidable.
Anyway, pessimism and/or panic are never worth indulging in.

No. Some very religious people would probably like to see the last days of Earth since at last, their faith could be checked if right or wrong. For the rest, there has always been wars, massacres, political and social changes for milleniums... The world will go on in one way or another.

Yes we are because we have indeed reach the period where morality runs very low. I would say we are at least in the beginning of the last days.
No because the end period last a long times if we define end as the total destruction of the physical world. This may take another about 9000 years. Then judgment day of the Bible will happen?

No, we've moved back considerably from the brink, I think, as there are no longer serious threats of global nuclear war. I do think that the world as a whole is in a fair amount of danger of an expanded war, but it is not likely to threaten the survival of the human race, as it was when I was growing up.
I think there's a reasonable chance that we're on the verge of a global-level severe reduction in our standard of living, which may hit the western nations particularly hard. For example, it looks like $3/gallon gasoline is here to stay in the U.S., and that only major technological advances can keep that from serious impact on our standard of living.

The answer is yes. We are in our last days, we only have to look at what is happening in the east to understand there is no way, that God can allow this to continue in his eyes...also that is why so many people are now scrambling to hold on to what little faith they can find, but those of us who already are prepared, just watch and pray and wait for his return, because Christ as we Christians know, is the only light in this world, and only he has the power to heal all pain.
