You are dating and your birthday is coming up? The person you are dating calls on your birthday to say hi but they dont get you anything, not even a card. Would you be hurt? Would you mention it to them? I like the person and I overlooked it but it is really bothering and it hurts. What would you do or say?

do they even know when ur bday is. and he probably just forgot, all guys do. its like they say "how do you remember your wifes dirthday?......forget it once".

you said you overlooked it but really you haven't as you have raised the issue on here. Look at a few things like the fact of how long you been dating, the seriousness of the relationship, the persons financial situation etc. They called so you were not completely over looked. Maybe this is a sign for the future and if it is going to be and it annoys you then maybe time to reflect the future of this relationship. This does not mean that a relationship is based upon the prize received for your birthday but their ability to think of you as someone special in their life. Maybe he does not consider the relationship to be on the same depth as you, maybe that is what you need to discuss.

I'd definitely mention that you're hurt. If you have expectations, you have to voice them, or the other person has no way of knowing. That's why guys complain that girls expect them to read their minds. We expect guys to know what we want, and they don't.
I'd have felt the same way as you, though. Is he just really tight with money or going through a hard time? He could have done something for you, like sent you an e-card for free or made a CD or something that takes time but not money. If you're in a serious relationship, he should recognize special days. If you're just casually dating or non-exclusive, maybe it wouldn't be so inappropriate to just call but not send anything.

Does he even know it was your birthday? Maybe you didnt mention it to him, so he didnt know, or he may not have money, or if he has maybe he is still planning something big, so dont be sad. Btw. Happy Birthday!!!

I would feel very upset.
Your boyfriend should have got you even a card you should tell him how you feel about this and he should understand it and make it up to you even if it means he cooks a nice meal for you and you rent a love movie and then have some fun afther lol
he needs to make you feel good and i hope he does

well i really wouldn't care, as getting something from him is nothing to me, but haveing him and his heart means o lot more, do you understand, dont be upset over it, im sure he dont love you any less
