Why is it soooooo difficult for men to communicate?

We function differently from women. We would like to get rid of our anxiety and bad mood by doing some sport or physical thing or just by being alone.

We men open up when we feel emotionally safe and feel that our opinions are respected.

You have to learn to communicate with men on all levels. Words are just very small portion of our whole scope of communication. Body language and unconscious signals are far more important. Learn to read and communicate via these channels. And your eyes will open up to see that the silence of men has disappeared for you forever.

First, I hate to generalize about an entire gender like that - not ALL men have trouble communicating, any more than all women talk all the time. That said, however, most men have no trouble communicating with other men. It's only when we women want them to communicate the same way we do that there is trouble.

This question is pretty general, so I don't know what it is you want him to communicate about. If it's minor, daily stuff, get over it. Men just don't talk about the details like we do. If it's more serious, relationship stuff, then you need to talk to him "like a man." Sit or stand beside him (not facing him - too confrontational) in a quiet moment when he isn't involved in something else. Calmly say something like, "I sometimes feel like you don't love me. I know you do, but sometimes I really need to hear it." Then shut up, smile lovingly, and walk away. Don't wait for an immediate response - it's just reflex anyway. Give him some time to think about it without pressure.

Use the same guidelines if you're talking to him about anything serious - talk to him when he isn't involved in something else, be calm, not accusatory, tell him how you feel and exactly what you need (but do it in 20 words or less), let him know this isn't about something he's lacking, and give him space to think it over.

Most of this is exactly the same for women. The only thing men should do differently if they are going to address a problem with a woman is they should face her and make eye contact. To us, eye contact means that you're really involved in the conversation - it isn't just an afterthought. Also, don't assume that an immediate response is just reflex - we probably do mean it.

A lot of men find it difficult to communicate their true feelings and things that are stressing them out due to not wanting to have pressure put on them for doing so.I am in a relationship myself and I know that if I try to talk about how I feel about anything I will be the worst person in the world therefore a lot of men like myself just keep it bottled up inside that way we know we are not going to be told we are silly or stupid or some other form of derogatory sort of name.As some men like myself have feelings that can be damaged beyond repair.So therefore we just keep everything to ourselves and only let out what we think will not cause an explosive situation.

They are conditioned from when they are little to believe a strong man does not reveal his supposed weaknesses. Men are factual and just want to try and help solve the problem and become frustrated if it is ongoing and looks like it can't be fixed. Then they will avoid the situation altogether and make it worse.

Women just want someone to listen to them, and men mistakenly believe they need a problem solved. Sometimes men think it can just be solved in the bedroom which is temporary not a long term fix. Women just need someone they can trust to bounce things off of, then if they think they are loved and understood it will be reciprocated like the man wants in the end. A lot of time and patience but worth it if you want a real friend as well as a lover..

Men are very free to Communicate to anyone... Whether they are Youg girls or Old ones.... If the Men find that they are really honest and good while communicating, Men feel very happy and continue to keep in touch with you... But the grils should be patient to understand men in right way. Don't over-react when they are communicating with you. Don't use any crazy words while speaking... Don't send any worse signs if you are communicating as strange....

NO!

Men are not TAUGHT to communicate. Men are TAUGHT to:

Hide their feelings.
Never cry.
Be tough.
Be the leader.
Be the guardian.
etc, etc, etc...

If women want to take charge and HELP in the concept of what boys can grow up to BE, then they should start sooner than later, because only a few fathers are teaching the newer standards to their boys these days...

And as far as lovers go, the more you truly show INTEREST in HIM, the more he will open up. Shut the hell up about YOUR life and YOUR hair and YOUR purses and YOUR problems and LISTEN for a change -- you might actually HEAR something, lol...

...but of course I have NO experience with selfish women, none at all...

I was watching a movie, which a Man asked .."Why are women so complicated? and the wise person replied.."Women are not complicated, men are just simple." LOL I have No idea why, but I think it is because the important brain parts focus on sex..not feelings.

Its not - they just communicate differently then women do. Take a class in male communication or in love languages. But no nagging - good luck.

Stunted brains, I'm absolutely sure of it. Even after a long relationship this does not change. You would think they'd get the message but they would rather lose a limb than have a heart to heart.
