There are a lot of variables in canine urine output.

The age of the dog is one factor...puppies have smaller bladders than adult dogs and need to pee more often.

The amount of water a dog drinks can also determine the urine production and even this can vary due to the age, ambient temperature, food and health of a dog. Dogs with certain health problems drink more, so they urinate more frequently, as do dogs that are outdoor dogs and exposed to hot daytime temps. Older dogs can lose bladder control and need to pee more frequently.

Dogs that eat food with a high moisture content will pee more often and dogs who have porcelain or glass water bowls drink more because cool water taste better to them as it does to humans...hence the temptation to drink from the toilet bowl!

Just like humans....there is no definite amount of time and two hours is not unreasonable. Some dogs can and will hold their urine longer....even 6 hours is not unusual.
