Well, I don't think it is as simple as that. I agree that animals make friends with humans and that after that they don't want to hurt that person. Dogs often go to anyone, but remain devoted to their owner even if they are abused. Cats choose the human they want to live with, and don't tolerate abuse. Lots of other pets don't really get a choice.
Not all humans hate other humans, and most humans don't want wars. Humans who love their animals especially want to avoid war at all costs beccause often the animal suffers first, from no fault of its own.
It used to be said that there is no murder in nature, animals don't kill for gain. But I am not so sure anymore.
Making friends and making war are unrelated issues, so it is hard to answer.

I'm afraid I haven't got an answer to why the human race seems to be constantly in conflict but dogs are just dogs and don't have the ability to get involved in politics and war games.
Dogs are motivated by the basic need to survive and procreate.
However I would like to point out to farrah m that human waste is polluting practically all the oceans on the planet.
Where does she think her faeces ends up when she flushes the toilet? Did anyone see David Walliams swimming in effluent when he was doing his Channel swim?
JeffE has the wrong idea about dogs as pack animals.
Wild or feral dogs live in a hierarchical pack with an established alpha male and alpha female. When the pack leader weakens as a result of age or infirmity he will be physically challenged but fights rarely result in serious injury or death.
There may be the occasional spat amongst the lower ranks but the whole idea of a pack is mutual cooperation for the survival of the entire pack.
Yeah Well has it wrong as well - dogs do not 'go to war' when they are hunting. They hunt and kill in order to survive. They do not hate their prey. They do not kill for sport. How many people who go fox-hunting have eaten the fox? How many people who go rabbiting need to eat the rabbits in order to survive? How many dogs attack and kill because of the price of oil?
Dogs defend their territory in order to protect their hunting grounds. This is necessary for their survival not because they want to show the world that they are superpowers.
Dogs do not go wild and kill each other although you can see examples of human behaviour on the news every day where some individual or gang has shot, stabbed, kicked or beaten someone to death.
Domesticated dogs that have not been properly socialised by their owners often show fear and aggresion towards other dogs. The fault lies with the owner who has been either too lazy or is too ignorant to take their dogs to puppy socialisation classes or to allow their dogs to interact properly with other dogs.

There is a lot of truth in what you say, but as it has been stated, dogs are very much a pack animal with wolf like instincts if left to their own devices. The domestic dog is a "man made animal" Maybe in many ways the domestic dog is worse. if two rival wolves meet, they might growl , bare their teeth and that's it, one will back down and walk away, or roll on its back in submission. They never engage in actual fighting. Some domestic dogs can (and at times, indeed do ) fight to the death.
It is my dog's birthday today by the way!

not all humans hate each other, and it normally takes a long time to build a proper friendship with any animal or human. And as for war, i certainly don't want it.
I think we may have to agree to disagree on this one

True in some sense, but have you seen dogs outside of human control. They become pack animals and attack each other. Even the sweetest dogs you know.

yes because the dogs get food and attention from you - the two things they need and love most - if they are at war with you - they won't get that and die miserably. It's common sense.

It's the men who do all the bad stuff, war, crime, fighting, you women should take over and bring your gentle touch and caring ways to govern the world. Dogs and cats and birds and all the rest are cool too.

cute question
but the premise is wrong
you feed your dog, and you keep it warm, so it doesnt hunger or want for anything, it is domesticated.
dogs do war, they hunt in packs, they rip other animals to pieces, and sometimes members of other packs.
10 points pls
