Sin is Sin.. meaning turning away form God..
Murder is a violation of the Ten Commandments...

Weather you are catholic, muslim or whatever god still loves you...that doesn't mean that you are not going to be judged for your sins... everyone will...

You ask how can catholosism (sp??) be true because of their violent past?.... Could not the reverse argument be made of the Muslim faith? Or pretty much any faith.... Religion through the ages has always been ripe with violence in the name of (insert higher power here)

Im a muslim, and I shall have a go at your question.

During the early days of the roman catholic church Jerusalem was considered as the most holy place in the catholic world (it still is ) but the problem is Islam also regards it as a very holy place. Now due to some corrupt leaders and a bit of bribery here and there the Pope was forced into declaring muslims as heretics and to order a troop of Knights to reclaim the "Holy Land". And the rest is history. The point is, it was all politics. Even now, the idiots who call themselves muslims and commit suicide bombings are doing it cause of politics pure and simple.

No religeon in the world believes that war is the answer, but every religeon believes that by love and peace can humainty prosper. :D

So, Arabs Muslims are justified when they tried to conquer other Middle East countries aside from Meccah and the Christian crusaders are not. Remember, that part of the world have Christian and Jews and even pagans before Islam. So, how did it become Islamic? By friendly gesture? Definitely a big NO because it was through fear and death that the Middle East was Islamized. Crusaders did not go there to suppressed the people but to stop the unstoppable conquest of Muhammedans in that part of the world especially when they tried to desecrate the Holy sepulcher in Jerusalem. Does everyone think Muslims thought of what we all call as innocent civilians? Does anyone think that Muslims did not kill Children and raped women of Christian and Jews alike?

1. Jesus loves all people, but that does not make all people righteous. His love provided an avenue for restored relationship with God, but not all men accept this gift.

2. It is not ok that anyone murders anybody ever. Note: There is a difference between murdering and killing. Namely, justification.

3. The crusades occurred after four hundred years of Muslim persecution of Christians.

Christianity is not made incorrect or unholy by the actions of unholy men. Church IS made unholy by supporting the actions of unholy men. There could still be justification for killing in war, in the judicial system that would not be considered sin in the eyes of God. In fact, in some cases it would be considered a sin not to kill.

It is sinful to catch and not kill murderers and it is sinful to allow invading armies to rape and pillage the believers homeland as happened during the Muslim persecution. What made the Crusades evil was the unholy practices of the so-called Christians whose actions were supported by the church.

Muslim armies had conquered much of northern Africa, Egypt, Palestine, Syria, and Spain, which had been some of the most heavily Christian areas in the world.

Thousands, and possibly millions, of Christians died during this drive to eventually bring the entire world under Islam.

The First Crusade was launched in 1095 by Pope Urban II to check the advance of the Muslims and regain control of the city of Jerusalem and the Holy Land.

I am sure that (like in all wars) some atrocities were committed by both sides but by most people's judgment this was a just war.

Catholicism is not true Christianity, they do alot more then 'live by the sword' and 'hate their enemies' which are both condemned by Jesus.

Catholicism actually tortured and killed many Christians which didn't observe the sabbath on sunday (first day of the week) but saturday (seventh day of the week) and for many other things. Only priests could have Bibles, and people were killed if they were found with one.

look up the 1260 day prophecy of Daniel for more information, and draw your own conclusions.

It wasn't OK. All religions include some misguided men and women.

Just because Jesus and/or God teaches the Truth, it doesn't mean that every person lives the Truth.

You'd be hard pressed to find a sinless Christian...even the current Pope would admit that's he's not without sin.

The trick is to not use other folks sins to justify ones own sins.

It's that whole dumb good/evil, yin/yang thing, whatever you want to call it. People have different names for it depending on their culture and upbringing. If a person(or group) sees themselves as being better than someone else, that someone else is obviously the opposite of them. But because that person(or group) thinks they are right, thier ego tells them to show their adversary how right they are and try to help them. That whole idea has just gotten out of hand so we have the religious wars and killings. Sad, when you think about it. Every religion teaches the same basic guidelines to live by. Most people are too narrowminded to see that, so, as a result we have the world we live in, enjoy.

thanks for this question loose truth seeker! :) Now, i'm faraway from perfect (like I say, if "perfect" turned right into a huge call or planet the user-friendly nevertheless wouldn't have hit Earth yet) in spite of the reality that I do attempt very not user-friendly to stay via Christ's teachings (love God thoroughly and love one yet another). i assumed each and every Christian tried to to boot. Then there are those who a lifeless ringer for to guage... i have requested earlier the position interior the Bible it says the position we are talked about as to forged judgment on one yet another or the position are we instructed to talk about a persons sin and then love them after we ridicule them-- yet no one has been waiting to provide me an answer. Now, if I ask the position we are talked about as to love one yet another...particularly a lot each and every man or woman is conscious (even non-believers). I genuinely don't have any contempt for all and sundry and that i admit, depending on the various examples i have said in existence, i'm so satisfied that God is the decide and by no ability guy. Phew. Peace. :)
