As they say,
"Life is what happens while you're busy making plans..."
My youngest is just entering kindergarten, and we're starting on her college savings plan. So, yes, I'm planning for their future, should they decide (and hopefully they will decide) to go to college.
I try really hard to be a motivator (not nag) for my husband, and so the first of the year he took 4 months off work to go to school for real estate, graduated top of his class, and now has his license. We moved to the city and things are great. I'm much more satisfied here than I was in BFE. LOL
As far as material things, we really couldn't care less. I try to raise my kids to understand that they can go spend $5 on a piece of plastic crap from SMart and a week later it will be broken, or they could spend that same $5 on a movie, or a museum, or roller skating, etc., and have a great experience they'll enjoy remembering for quite some time.
This was harder to do when we lived out in the sticks. We had little $ and there was little to do. Now that we live in the city, there are libraries, museums, live concerts and theatre, and all kinds of programs for kids. Plus, when we moved, I took a part-time office position and a part-time work-from-home position, so when school starts, I'll drop them off and pick them up and they won't ever have to be with a sitter.
This is what I've been planning for the past three years, and it's finally happened and our entire family is much more relaxed and very happy. Currently, I am satisfied.
The problem with being satisfied is there is the danger of falling into your comfort zone and/or getting in a rut and never seeing the opportunity for positive change. So I'm sure I'll find something soon to strive for, that next level of accomplishment. But this is what happens when two high achievers meet and have kids. LOL

It seems like not everyone is satisfied with what they have. Even the filthy rich. I have plans for my future of course. I'm just 16. As you know teenagers have alot of insecures in them and not always satisfied with what they what it goes to me too.

Most defiantly satisfied, poor, rich, doesn't matter to me as long as I have family to share it with.
