Not really, it's more of a 'war' of words, but it's still a healthy debate, get some issues right out there in the open, gets you thinking about what you read in the news. Partly, it's a tempest ina teapot, but there's always room for improvement where immigration regulation and enforcement are concerned, I think there's been more than a little intentional negligence in the way the whole thing's been handled, said negligence pertaining to Large Suitcases of Money being exchanged between people in position to influence how policy is carried out, in short, same ****, different day in politics....if there were no financial gain to be had from bending the immigration laws, well, broken, because these've been bent so many times that visible cracks have formed, one more 'bend' and they may as well not exist, anyway if there was no money to be made, it wouldn't be going on. Corruption, plain and simple, and it's gonna take a LOT of soap, and bright sunlight, to clean up the festering mess that the border with Mexico represents. Mexico's got a problem that over the years it's become a crime-nest. So, if that country isn't going to reform, the prophylaxis of isolating their country from ours is a Great First Step in dealing with it. If they want the economic benefit of open trade/open borders with our country, then they can show that desire best by doing a whole lot better on law enforcement. Alternatively, they can keep it out of our country by being told to stay OUT. This is easy stuff, people just gotta stand up and lay down a ballot on the right side of this issue, and politicians have to actually LISTEN to the public, for a change.
Mexico's basically a 3rd world country. Do you want to see that take hold in the United States? I don't.
