Almost all homeo medicines were once used in modern medicine. But discarded as the margin of safety is very narrow. Margin of safety is the difference between therapeutic dose and toxic dose. Too dilute a homeo medicine as often claimed curative by homeopaths does not work. Too concentrated one kills. Belladona,Hyoscymus, Arsenicum,Thiocyanate, Conium,Anacardium ,Cactus,Chelidonium,Cemifuga, and Clocynthus are some examples tested and rejected by medical research. In therapeutic pharmacology the rule is that a drug that does not have any side effects does not have any effects.

In the few well-done studies on the effectiveness of homeopathic medicine they have proved to be USELESS!!! On the other hand there is a growing literature on the effectiveness of naturopathic compounds, but one must be very careful. Just because a substance is "natural" doesn't mean it's safe...cyanide is "naturally" made by peach pits.
If one is truly depressed (e.g. trouble sleeping, changes in appetite, feelings of hopelessness or suicidal thoughts) one really should seek a qualified mental health professional. The modern medications for depression are really quite effective and most people who take them don't have side effects, despite what the "alti's" say!

Most if not all diseases can either be controlled or eradicated by homeopathic medicine. What is most important is the choice of drugs and the potency. It has no side-effects.It works on the principle that poison kills poison.Homeo refers to internal steady state. This is set right by the drugs so that the body becomes capable to fight the disease.

hmm.. homeopathy huh? I must admit as a medical student we were always introduced to using pharmaceuticals for depression. Although, I wouldn't discount using homeopathic medicines if used correctly and prescribed by a reputable doctor. So check his references out and ask him about the stuff he is prescribing.. side effects, drug kinetics, metabolism, and the like..

Homeo medications work thro' nervous systems. If you have good habits and has'nt spoiled your nerves because of excessive tensions, surely they may help. Intially homeo medicines cannot bring miracles for the above reason. However prolonged and continuous treatement will defenitely help. Get help from a reputed doctor.

If it isn't approved by FDA or whatever similar authority you have in your country I wouldn't take it. There are plenty of good medications against depression which have been repeatedly shown in scientific experiments to work.
So there's no reason to take the risk associated with drugs that just might work according to heresy.
