This statment can be priewed from two perspectives. If you say God is the Heavenly Father of every Tom, Dick and Harry then Yes - God is the Father of Jesus also or Jesus is the son of God.

If you read the Bible you will come to know that God is the Father of everyone.. e.g.

"...Adam, which was the son of God."
(Luke 3:38)

"That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair... And when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them..."
(Genesis 6: 2,4)

"...Israel is My son, even My firstborn:"
(Exodus 4:22)

"...for I (God) am a Father to Israel, and Ephraim is My firstborn." (Jeremiah 31:9)

"...the Lord hath said unto me (David): 'Thou art My son: this day have I begotten thee."
(Psalms 2:7)

"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God."
(Romans 18:14)

Jesus being the Son o God in that sense has no problem but now if you say that "Jesus is the only Begotten Son" - The Muslim takes exception to the word "begotten", because begetting is an animal act, belonging to the lower animal functions of sex. How can we attribute such a lowly capacity to God?

Metaphorically we are all the children of God, the good and the bad, and Jesus would be closer to being the Son of God than any one of us, because he would be more faithful to God then any one of us can ever be. From that point of view he is preeminently the Son of God. Although this pernicious word "begotten" has now unceremoniously been thrown out of the "Most Accurate" version of the Bible, the Revised Standard Version (R.S.V.),

If the Mysterious Birth of Jesus makes him the "Begotten" son of God then what about Melchisedec...

"For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God... Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life..." (Hebrews 7:1,3)

Only God Almighty can bear the qualities of Melchisedec - does it Mean that Melchisedec is more close to be called the "Son of God" than Jesus Christ...

are you asking a serious question or just stirring the waters? I assumed you are serious so I will give my opinion.

I am of the opinion that he is and I have staked my life on that fact. That is not just a way of life for me but it is my life in this sequence.

I am also of the opinion you must truly decide this question for yourself and do not base it on my opinion. Such a decision must come from within you and it will only effect you and your own life, not mine. I did my thing and made my decision, so you do yours my friend.

Now have a great day and do consider carefully all your options which are:

HE IS.
HE IS NOT
NOT SURE EITHER WAY

Smile and consider carefully the evidence, for it might just be the greatest decision you make in this existence called by most humankind as life.

Jesus is a human being but a prophet (who is specially born to lead the people right way). there are lots of prophets arrived in different times, when the community become worse. Prophet mohammed is the last prophet. All these prophets teach us that there is only one god and pray to that god only. but some of us thinking the prophets are god or god's son and praying to them. If you study about islam very well, all your doubts will be cleared.

The term "Son of God" is a common term between Jews, especially around the time of Jesus.
It simply means A good person, A God's chosen person or a prophet of God.

As God does not exist, yet Jesus obviously did, he apparantly was not. If we presume God does exist for the sake of arguement, then Jesus was little different from any other human... thus, we would ALL be God's sons.

When Jesus also had been baptized and was praying, the heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended upon him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven ` You are my Son, the Beloved, with you I am well pleased.`
