I met him at a Dead show in Eugene, Oregon in the early Eighties. He was selling weed and cheese sandwiches, trying to get enough money together for a ticket. I had an extra one and I was pretty flush in those days so I just gave it to him. Seemed like a good guy; you can usually tell who to trust at Dead shows.

The night before the show, we 'shroomed together and listened to Paul Simon's self-titled 1972 solo album again and again and again. It was raining and we were holed up in the back of a van, smoking pot and just talking, talking.

He told me a few things about myself, and I don't guess I had some insight for him as well. You know those 'shrooms, man, you really open up.

I don't see him much these days, Not since Jerry Garcia was called away. We exchange birthday and Christmas cards and whatnot (I save a couple of bucks, in his case), the occasional e-mail. We keep meaning to get together and down a few brews, but you know, you get busy.

He came into my life a few weeks back now.

He's one of my friend's new dealers. He mows lawns on the side. always takes the clippings rather than recycled, who knew?

He said I'd be meeting you, and to pass on a howdy, and he wants to know if you can send your cheesecake recipe.

it was a rainy , cold night when i first met him. My boyfriend had just left me and i kept walking accross town, in the middle of the night, raged, my eyes wet, craving for a cigarette but no kiosque was open. My footsteps took me to old fortress and under th opening of the grand door, there he was. I went there as well because th e rain was starting to get stronger and without saying anything he looked at me and offered me his pack. He stroke my hair gently for a moment and left. I lost sight of him with the mist and the rain and never saw him again.

About 15 or so years ago. But about 2 or 3 years later, I realized I had imagined him coming into my life. Must have been that whole atmosphere they set up that made me feel good. You know - The soft talking speaker, the hypnotic music, etc. etc.

Jesus is really there and he will come in your life as soon as you ask him. He leaves the choice up to you but died for every human and their sin. I assume you have heard this before and thought of putting nothing on here, but I just want to say he loves you. I am so grateful God is good even when we aren't!!

Mel hello,

I think he is always in our life calling us by his grace, waiting for us to give a positive answer to his question (will you choose me?) and when we give a negative answer he carries on calling us even though because he is outside of time knows the outcome. But he keeps on calling us because of the obvious. Hope this helps xx SO HE IS ALWAYS THERE
