Avocado is believed to have a cooling effect fpr the body. You could eat it freshly out of the skin and it tastes even better when chilled. When chilled, it becomes like jelly and you could make them into cool drinks with Jelly with syrup. Perfect for summer.
For dinner dishes, avacado can also be boiled and make into soup. Pork would go very well with it in the soup. Accompany the boiling process with relevant spices or else it will be tasteless.
The plant is also believed to have an "anti-cancer" magical effect in certain part of South East Asia. Perhaps of its fibre and cooling effect for body overheat that might have solved some bizzarre cases.

No. Never cook an avocado, it will come out tasting disgusting and look awful too boot.
It's supposed to enjoyed fresh, and preferably cold.To get into it, you can hold it in your hand, take a knife and slice into it from the top down until you reach the pit, then bring the blade down and rotate the avocado around it until you have it split open. Then make a firm single chop into the pit, and twist to pop the pit out.
Then you can scoop it out with a spoon and do what you want with it. It's great by itself with a little salt or on salads or as a guacamole dip. But it's important that you eat the avocado soon after you cut it open, because it tends to oxidize and turns the flesh brown and black and makes it taste bitter. You can hold this off by adding freshly squeezed lemon or lime juice to the avocado.
I'm sure there's plenty of ways to use it, but i'm a simple person. I've eaten it with a spoon, or with a tortilla since i was a little kid.

Avocado can be eaten fresh or cooked. I love putting them on pizza and in toasted sandwiches. Be careful though, make sure to cover the avocado with cheese (on a pizza) because sometimes the avocado becomes bitter! Past experience has taught me to make sure that the avocado is covered (a very good excuse to add more cheese on the pizza - so, that's my theory and I am sticking to it!) Serious about them going bitter sometimes though!

No, Avocados are great right out of the skin. You might want to have a little lemon juice handy to keep the avocado from turning brown before you eat it though.

Avocado need not to be cooked. you can have a slice of it and eat it raw. try it mixed with full powdered milk and sugar, mash the avocado then refrigerate. chill. Good for dessert. Also it's known to make guacamole. It's also in sushi.

no, avocado can be eaten right out of the skin. It is very rich and creamy--very good sliced and put onto a roasted chicken sandwich...or mashed with chopped tomatoes, diced onions, a bit of chopped jalapeno, salt, pepper and lemon or lime juice and made into a guacamole...i love it.

It is nice on Sandwiches or you can eat it raw or make dip out of it can be cooked in certain recipes but I would say the most is eaten raw I like mine, on honey and soy bread with turkey breast and avacado, also add a bit of lemon juice to your avacado to stop it going brown and a bit of pepper mash it up and spread it on your sandwich or biscuit, very very nice.

Peel it first. You can eat it sliced with lemon. Or mash it well with lemon juice and stir in sour cream for a dip or spread. Avacado also makes a super topper for nachos or refried beans. Enjoy.
