Then the concept of sin wouldn't exist, so it wouldn't matter.
People would still be nice to each other, as people will still care for one another. Morals can exist without religion!

I don't think it was ever religions purpose to explain life, if it was it sure was a shitty explanation in most cases, so I don't think science is replacing religion. Science can be used either way. Someone who doesn't believe in religion can say, "see, it wasn't god all along it was science; earth quakes, tornados, voclanos were all explained with science". Someone who believes can just as well explain religion with science because there are so many things we can't explain, like why when you cut a bar magnet in half it doesn't split into a magnet that is all north pole and one that is all south pole, it always makes two new magnets with each having a north and a south pole. Sounds simple, but no physicist in the world can explain it. Or what causes the attraction between planets or protons and electrons? No one knows.
If we could all just be a little more flexible in our beliefs, or at least willing to entertain the fact that we could be wrong about them, I think the world would be a much nicer place.

Science can't replace religion by explaining life.
Science cannot create life.
They are only now learning the flow of energy upon the earth from whence life is created.
And you know what modern science is saying?
There is a creator...
Yup that's right, modern science believes that some greator power has to have created us.
This is because no one can explain where the energy comes from that is created upon birth. It just appears. But unseen energy can be traced, except for where it goes and comes upon birth and death.
So it seems you don't know that much about modern science.
Watch the movie, "what the bleep do we know" to learn more about the modern scientific movement towards God. (mostly quantum physicists)
You can get it at blockbuster.
When science can create a life form from atomic elements and breath life into it, is the day science can replace religion by explaining life.
Neither big bang nor evolution can be proved in the slightest. They are only theories.

Being a human is a lot more fun than all the churchy types want you to believe. Sin is a guilt trip laid on the masses to allow the clergy to control them. Since the clergy were not born into royal bloodlines, they have always sought a way to retaliate. Considered an great inconvenience to royalty, the clergy had to come up with some method of creating fear in the minds of the royals. Sin was the sure way to be destroyed in the "afterlife", another creation of the church. Don't worry about being human, it is a lot easier than you have been led to believe, you don't have to feel guilty about being alive.

First off science will not replace religion - they are two separate entities. Science is just that and religion if has to be categorized falls under the scope of Sociology.
As for right and wrong, religion doesn't make conscience. Religion may play a small part in helping to create one but so does environment and society. You can have morality without religion.

Right and wrong, ethics, morality, etc are man made concepts that can be followed without fearing things that there is no evidence of. I've been an atheist for 20 years and I'm doing just fine with ethics based on a social contract with my fellow civilized humans. I know you have faith that I'm going to hell, but faith does not equal fact.
Also, having religion does not guarantee that you will choose right over wrong.
For example
Believers flew airplanes into the world trade center
Believers blow up abortion clinics, and do unnecessary pre-emptive strikes on defenseless countries, and leave their citizens to die by the hundreds everyday in a civil war that they say is not happening. Evangelical christian George Bush isn't the only warmonger to blame, but he led the "crusade" for war.
When is the last time you ever heard of anyone blowing up anything in the name of atheism?
Have a nice day!
Atheist.

Science is a wonderful instrument for us to discover the mysteries of the material world. But not many of us learn and use it properly, we blindly believe the disproved scientific theories!
Religion is another perfect instrument for us to discover the mysteries of the spiritual world. But not many of us learn and use it properly, we blindly believe the prejudicious religious doctrines!
So, at least let us get rid of all preconveived ideas which lead us to confusion, then form a clear conceipt about true science and true religion; and embark on a proper education to use them both in our independent investigation of truth for ourselves.
With the new mass media, especially the Internet, we can easily learn anything. If we learn to have a clear conceipt about ourselves, we would step on the road of salvation; otherwise we would continue on the dark road of fallacy and suffering.
And as a mature humanity we must take responsibilty for our destiny now, right now!

If science can replace religion, it can replace sin as well. To make a statement that you live in contradiction to your beliefs is sad. No man or woman should live in contradiction to their beliefs.

Man is sinful by nature because of the first Adam. How can you deny evil's existence when you see it all around the world? How can you deny God's love in the form of nature's beauty which surrounds the earth? The wages of sin is death, nobody is sinless. One may argue that a newborn baby is innocent and thus sinless, but when given a chance to tell a lie when he is grown up, his first instinct would be to lie unless his parents have inculcated personal ethical values in him. Hence, nothing can save us from our own sins. We can only work out our own salvation with fear and trembling, but with the help of Jesus who loves us deeply, we can overcome these chains of enslavement.
