I personally have recently converted to Wicca and I find no where it says anything about Lucifer or Satan... So anyone want to clarify?

Because they're all ignorant and have to lable things they don't understand. Ignorance is bliss, eh?

Because they are ignorant and brainwashed.
Because several hundred years ago wise women (and herbalists and midwives) were thought to be the tools of Satan and were tortured by the Church to obtain confessions saying they were tools of Satan so therefore it's true. No one would EVER dare to lie to a man of god while having their fingernails pulled out or their bones crushed, right?

They are ignorant and intolerant! They have also been misinformed and don't care to learn about other religions or respect them.

Satan is a Abrahamic character, who doesn't exist outside of those religions. In Paganism, there is no "evil" god. The duality doesn't exist in good and evil like Christianity, but in Paganism the duality exists in male and female instead. The universe is balanced differently for us, and it's not "us vs. them" either.

Blessed be!

The devil (pictured as most people see him) looks a lot like Pan, a pagan god who watches over shepherds and their flocks (coincidence?). As Christianity spread they took ideas and symbols of peoples old religions and incorporated them into theirs. This would make Christianity easier for people to grasp, something to hang onto. But , their old religion had to be shown it was the "bad" way to go, so Christianity turned some of their symbols etc. into taboo. So what would be the opposite or adversary of a God that watches over his flock? Pan.

I have to confess, I was one of those ignorant people. That is until I read up on Paganism and I went to York, England and got to know a little more about what it is actually about. With all things people dont understand, they will condemn it without learning about it first. Ignorance is bliss.

Wicca and other religions based in magic involve invoking and working your own will; in other words, it's a very defiant way of thinking for yourself.

To go into other symbolism, Lucifer is championed by many as a symbol of free will and knowledge; Satan's lines in Milton's Paradise Lost, "The mind is its own place, and in it self/Can make a Heav'n of Hell, a Hell of Heav'n" and "Better to reign in Hell, then serve in Heav'n" are one of the best examples of this.

However, chances are good most people saying these things haven't made that sort of connection.

Some think if it isn't their way it is Satan's way. They aren't going to change their minds.

We know different. Congratulations on finding your new path.

what book are you reading? My Book mentions both names several hundred times. My book mentions pagan. It says nothing about a way to heaven by broomstick. Or whatever there way of travel is during the Millennium years.

Satanic rites rarely inform their followers of such things. The fact is, any worship of false gods is satanic and sinful.

Satan likes to deceive, and he especially enjoys nasty surprises, at our expense.

You'll find out soon enough.

If you hear either of those names mentioned by wiccans about themselves, run.

Its because they're afraid of how much you'll learn about old religions and you begin to notice similarities between them and christianity etc.

Besides, they're the ones that paid for heresy inquisitions that they're now realising did jack all
