YHWH, Yeshua/Immanuel (Jesus).

YHWH = I am that I am (God is the only being whose existence is not dependent on any other being).

Yeshua/Immanuel (Jesus) = God is our Savior; God with us.

Cordially,
John

If you believe that there is only ONE god, there's no point in giving Him a name, so God fits the bill well. It's like our solar system. Because we only have one sun, we simply call it "the Sun". But because there are an infinite number of stars in the Universe, we give our star the proper name Sol. Because there are two Englands on Earth, we call the first one "England" and the other one "New England".

If God is the only true god in the universe, He doesn't need a name.

I believe in a God who did not have a separate name at first, because until man invented other gods He was the only god. But when pressed for a name He told Moses to answer the Pharoah (when he asked "Who is your god? What is his name?") "I Am Who I Am." It's like the President saying "Call me President - because I really am" - call Him God, because He IS God.

I apologise if that sounded preachy; that was not my intent, only to answer the question - the meaning of His name.

My God has no name. When there is just one of a thing you do not need to call it to distinguish it from another.
