The old question is "If a tree falls in the forest, and there's noone there to hear it, does it make a sound?"

It's the same with EM. If you don't have enough personnel to visit the environment regularly, remote sensing lets you keep tabs on what's shakin.

Remote sensing has the advantage of reponding to an event(s) for expediant transfer of data for analysis or engaging some corrective measure.

The remote sensing devices on my car are essential, the last one I had didn't have them and I kept bumping into walls backing up. No more dints on the back fender!!
