The premise that people are hypocrites may be valid. We think one way and live another. The case falls apart with the details about the un-hypocritical ending up in jail. What are you thinking? I think people living by their convictions are honest with themselves and their actions. How an honest person ends up in jail in your mind is non-sense.
Let's assume the author of this question is a hypocrit who is trying to be honest. The author trips on his own words by treating the other group (honest people) as outcasts belonging in jail. Therefore, the author short circuits the attempt of honesty by stereotyping honest people as bad people and in the same simple act makes a compelling argument that it's normal to be like everyone else who are hypocrites, with the sense of belonging to a noble group (of hypocrites).

Can't speak for everyone, but I know I am a hypocrite. I knew this even before my teenage children pointed it out.

Yes.... We all end up breaking our own rules or bending them. Going back on beliefs when situations change or knew knowledge has been learned.

I am. I wish I could be a tenth the person I am in reality as I am in on here. It is in the striving.
