My cousin took his dog to the lake and everything was fine until he noticed that his dog was up on a ledge (like a fifteen foot drop) and he saw her running and trying to stop but ended up flying over the edge. She landed in water but the water was only like a foot or two deep. She appears healthy and happy and ok, but should he take her to the vet just incase?? After she jumped she just ran out of the water (still playing) and all, and ran back in jumping and just having a blast. She is about a year or so old, and is a daschound... may have spelled that incorrectly

Level 5- Yeah its true, it's hard to believe but true. They took pictures of the ledge so they could show to the vet incase they needed to see it. They also have a picture of the dog up there just before she jumped. They just couldnt stop her because she they were in the water. My cousin says she is doing fine though and looks ok, still acting normal and all. thanks for all

I don't think I believe that story. If a dachshund has jumped off a ledge into shallow water, I think it would be dead by now. Anyway, she sounds okay to me. I just do not believe the story.

If she doesn't appear to be having any problems, then she should be fine. Just make sure your cousin keeps an eye on her.

If she seems ok, I would just keep a close eye on her. But given that she is a doxie and they are prone to back problems anyway, it certainly wouldn't hurt to have her looked at.

my friends dog got hit by a car and flew about 10ft in the air came back down and was running it was crazy she was perfectly fine.

should be ok ... watch for any distress signs ,,i would keeep it on a long leash next time
