There are several. There are some available through your vet and there are also some available at stores such as Petco, Petsmart and online at www.petedge.com. We've tried several - including the ones available from the vets - and have found that one called Dental Fresh, available at Petco, works as well as any of them. It's a blue liquid that you add to your dog's water every time you fill the bowl and we think it does a pretty good job of controlling both plaque and dog breath. We still brush our dogs' teeth every couple of weeks, but find that Dental Fresh really does help. If your dog already has a yellow buildup of plaque, don't expect the liquid to do much in the way of getting rid of it, but once you've been able to reduce or remove that with brushing or a visit to your vet for cleaning, Dental Fresh will help keep it from coming back. Many people have commented on how white our dogs' teeth are.

One note of caution - remember the name Dental Fresh because Petco sells other brands as well. We tried another brand (don't remember the name), but when we put it in our dogs' bowl and added water, it foamed up like we had put soap in it - and our dogs wouldn't drink the water! We took it back and got our money back.

Yes there is, you can get it at your vet, and some pet supply stores. You use like one cap full per 1 quart of water. If the pet does not consume all the water in 72 hours you need to replace the water and add more of the product. I have found the product (it is called different things depending on the company that makes it) to help with bad breath in most dogs, but unless you have your dogs teeth professionally cleaned before you begin the product, it doesn't do much to clean the tartar off. This has to be removed by scaling.

Yes. I just saw Doggie Mouthwash at Petco. You add a little to their drinking water. I can't remember the exact name but I know Petco sells it. I think it was with the vitamins and health products. I was going to buy it but wondered if it actually works. For now I just give my dogs dry dog food and the occasional Denta Bone and they haven't had a dental problem yet (knock wood!)

You can buy dog toothpaste and toothbrushes. Since your dog may fight this, I recommend giving him Milkbones. They get the job done.
