The Border Alien Robbery Force or B.A.R.F. Squad was active for about a year during 1976-1977. They were the subject of the book, Lines and Shadows by J. Wambaugh. It was started by Lt. Dick Snider and members were 10 San Diego PD cops including Sgt. Manny Lopez, Ofc. Renee Camacho, Joe Vasquez, Bobbie Hurt, Ken "King" Kelly, Eddie Cervantes, Tony Puente, Fred Gil, Ernie Salgado, Joe Castillo, Carlos Chacon, and Gil Padillo. Are any of these guys online and interested in discussing their time with the BARFERS?

Manny Lopez is a private investigator in downtown San Diego. Try searching Manny Lopez and Associates for his number. Not sure if he'd like to talk about it, but you might want to start there.

Well, I guess this is as good a place as any to try to contact them. But I am guessing that they probably don't want to talk too much about their past activities.
