y'know what's really funny?
if he's god, then why did he say "why hast thou forsaken me, god?" ----- was he talking to himself or something????
the trinity is hilarious. it's like the biggest copout since "faith", but it's like borderline polytheism. and so many christians will tell you that they believe in it,,,,,, but that they don't really understand it. i'm sorry,, but people who relentlessly believe in things that they don't understand shouldn't be allowed to vote.

The question isn't whether the Trinity of God exists, that is made very explicit throughout scripture. The question is, how does God function through this means, it's obvious that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit although exist as one, function as independents at times.
There are some good studies on this subject that help shed some light but ultimately, to fully understand God is not realistic in the present flesh, now we see as if looking through a clouded glass, then we will see face to face.

I agree that you should read what the Bible has to say about it.
It actually says that no MAN knows when exactly he will return. Of course Jesus knows when he will return.
Jesus was just as much human on Earth as he was divine. It's simply impossible for us to understand this fully, so why try.
The Holy Trinity is again an infinite concept that no one here can wrap their minds around. It's true that Jesus called himself the Son, but he also said "I and my Father are one." In other references he states that he is God.
John 1:1 states: "In the beginning was the Word (Jesus), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Jesus is not described as being the same essence and consciousness as God. As such, God Himself is the Ultimate and Complete Consciousness in which we exist. In a very real way, we exist only in God's imagination, in His mind. Jesus is God in that he acts as God's manifestation as a person (and as an angel in the form of Michael the archangel), and acts with the full authority of God. He also has the power to forgive sins, and to choose those who will be granted eternal life. However, in any of His incarnations, He is limited by the mind and body He is inhabiting at that time. The concept of the trinity is tricky, and I've long been considered heretical by much of the church for my semi-trinitarian beliefs. The majority of the church theologians believe that the trinity is a great mystery, and that we cannot fully comprehend it. I believe, however, that we would not be taught in the Bible that which we were not intended to understand. There is some truth in the concept of the trinity (and the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all certainly referred to as very real and seperate entities in the Scriptures), however, true understanding of the nature and essence of God is virtually non-existent either within or outside of the church.

this is the concept of trinity.it says that god the holy soirit and jesus pbuh are one.
this is possible by saying that as a person can also be a father son and buisnessman at the same time
but there is a confusion
that if that person knows a secret automatically the buisnessman, father and son will alsoi know as they are one person BUT it says in the Bible that no 1 knows when judjement day will happen except God Almighty.
if God knows then Jesus and holy spirit should also know because they are one so WHY DOESNT JESUS AND HIOLY SPIRIT KNOW????
its all very confusin and every day ifind contradictions in trhe Bible and it confuses me that HOW CAN THE WORD OF God have such serious errors??

Knowing and telling are two different issues.
What people wrote about Jesus and what he was are two different issues.
If God knows everything, there would be no point to creation. The future if it is still to happen, is not yet, so it can not be known now. I think God knows everything that is knowable and could make some pretty spot on predictions but unless we have free will to make our lives, our lives, they are not ours. And then we could nor be held accountable for them.
Trinity is a good idea even if it can be confusing for some. It means that we see God as a relationship of love rather than having only a single point of view . For God to fairly judge humans, we need to be assured that he understands what its like to have doubts, suffer pain, experience temptations and all the other human issues. If you impose divine qualities on to Jesus' humanity, to make his humanity a lie.
Not having the Trinity creates more problems than it solves, in my opinion.

I believe he is a prophet. And he is not God or even his son....Give me one verse in the Bible on Jesus's toungue saying I'm God's son or I'm God.......And if he was why would he say while he was on the cross "God why did you let me" or something like that as I don't remember the original script. If he knew he would be crossed he wouldn't say that.Unknowing this disproves the theory of being God or God's son.
Beside how can you imagin that God who shouldn't have any similarity with us "the humans" because he is the perfect can have a human son? Would God need to have a son?
And if he wanted to have a son wouldn't he be perfect like him?
And if you say that Jesus was sacrificed for the humanity and to give us God's forgiveness why couldn't God give us his mercy and forgiveness without the sacrifice of his son and what is the relation between the two acts?

Because He templified everything for us to follow, Peter said that we are to follow His steps in 1 PETER Ch. 2:21.In St. Matt. Ch.24:36 the LORD said no man know's the day nor the hour, so in the human body it wasn't His purpose to to give time and dates and yes there is no trinity the theme through the entire Holy Bible is ONE. But thats a different subject .

Jesus is God's son, they are two completely separate people! If he told us the date of his return, then people would know they could sin as much as they want and not have to repent until that time, which would be stupid. Jesus and God want people to have faith in them all the time. I agree with you though, the whole Trinity thing is hogwash! God, Jesus, and the Holy Ghost are three separate entities, that's what the Mormon Church believes, and it sounds good to me!

With all these people saying that Jesus isn't God, why do they worship Jesus AND God? I thought there were supposed to be no other gods before God...
And for the people who say Jesus IS God, does that mean that the all-knowing doesn't know something (i.e. the date of Christ's return)?
I hate religious debate. Christians will not convince Athiests, and Athiests will never convince Christians.

Jesus is God.
When he took the form of a man, he voluntarily put aside some of his powers.
There is nothing irrational or illogical about that.
--
Here is a brief synopsis of the Trinity:
There is only ONE God. He manifests himself in three personas/persons/manifestations for the purposes of the redemption of, and relationship with, human beings.
Contrary to what some people say, there is nothing irrational or illogical about this concept (of the Trinity).
For an explanation (and defense) of the doctrine of the Trinity, see http://www.godsci.org/gs/sect/doc/trinity.html
Cordially,
John
