They're technically "pizza pies." Pi rn't square (they are round), but they are squared. Hence the box.

maybe its because square boxes are easy to assemble and store than round boxes...

probably because round boxes would be more expensive to have. Corrugated cardboard is not easily molded into those shapes. squares and other rectangle shapes are easiest.
