Here are the lists of tools that can make a difference from a bad hair day and say hello to a good one. Choosing the right tools are essential by keeping it handy and ready at all times to help you deal with any styling situations. These tools are available at any local beauty supply stores or local drugstores.

Hair Tools and Purposes:

Round brush - Flips hair up, turns it under, or creates volume on top while you’re blow- drying. There are several kinds of round brush. If possible look one with natural bristles which are gentler on hair.

Paddle brush - This brush is good for styling longer locks and straightening curly hair. Use the one with a rubber base and nylon or natural bristles.

Vent brush - This brush add volumes to any hair type. This is to use when you're blow drying your hair. The hole design allows the air to pass.

Wide-tooth comb - This is a good tool of detangling wet hair. If your hair is thinning or falling. This comb is good to use. Its wide teeth. Minimize untangles the hair easily and lessen the damage.

Hair Accessories - Like hair clips, barrettes, hair pins, pony tail. They are necessary basic for holding your hair.

Spray bottle - One of the handiest items to have, use it to spray problem areas rather than rewetting your hair all over. Any plastic bottle that sprays water will do.

Curling iron - Look for a stainless steel curling iron can be used to create a variety of curly styles. It's not ideal to buy a plastic curling iron cause they might overheat. They can damage your hair.

Blow-dryer - Use to dry and style hair.

Tips in buying a blow dryer:

1. A good blow-dryer should have a minimum of 1250 watts.

2. Look for one with at least two speeds and three heat settings—hot, warm, and cool.

3. Higher speeds and hotter settings remove moisture; lower speeds and cooler settings “set” the style in place with minimal heat damage and greater control.

4. Many blow-dryers also come with attachments; look for one with a diffuser.

5. A diffuser acts to spread out air flow, minimizing damage from direct heat.

6. With a diffuser, it’s much easier to style hair, because the air flow doesn’t blow strands every which way.

Hair silk. It is for skin and hair. It looks like water/oil, but it is not oily. There are a few brands of it. It is what I use. It makes it not only more manageable, but it smells great, looks healthier too. I get compliments on my hair all the time. No matter what lenght I have it.

Brand I have now is: "Proffessional" SilkWorks.
Hope this helps.. :)

Oh Gosh, poor you! I have lanky fine thin hair and would swap in a heartbeat, but lets get down to how we can help.
First, get you hair in fab condition by using either Redken or Nexxus hair products. They work from the inside out and are fabulous.
After 3 weeks on moisturising and saltless shampoo (buy extreme pack on www.LookingGood.com) buy yourself a perming solution with neutraliser. Do an allergy test 24 hours before hand!!!
An Acidic solution so as not to do too much damage, and mix the perm solution in a non metallic bowl with common old talcum powder until it is thick and gloupy. Rubber gloves!
Cover your clothes and put a towel round your neck, and starting at the back, section off, and start pasting and pulling. Do not comb, as the hair will be at it's weakest at this stage. Carry on up and over the head, piling it on top of your hair and getting as many kinks out as you can with your gloved hand.

After 15 minutes, wash off the perm solution and use the neutraliser. Pour again into non metallic bowl with a sponge, squishing it until frothy to aerate it, and dab it all over your head and leave for 5 minutes.

Wash off and shampoo with Redken/Nexxus and moisturise with their extreme pak. Wrap head in a Hot towel and leav for 20 minutes. Have a soak in the bath or something. then rinse off thorough and close down cuticle by using lemon juice or vinegar mixed with water. leave in. The smell will go.

Go to Boots and look for L'oreal perming solution. This will damage your hair, but if you treat it before hand, and after, the condition will come back, and your hair will be a lot sleeker.

I am a qualified Trichologist, having owned 4 salons and treated hundreds of different clients, so know a little bit. If you go to a salon for this treatment it will set you back quite a lot of money, and I have given you these tips for free, so please don't waste them. Good Luck and please let me know how you get on.
