I'm watching my weight. If I screw up and binge on brownies one night (like, um, last night), how long after I eat the baked goods can I weigh myself to find out how much weight I will gain from the loss of self-control? My intuition is that I should be able to weigh myself immidiately after binging, because I'll never be heavier than I am with the undigested brownies in my system, the excess pounds I gain has to come from somewhere, right?

The best time to weigh yourself is immediately after you wake up, once a week. It depends on how often you binge whether or not you will gain weight. If your weekly caloric intake is more than 3500 calories and you do nothing to burn any calories, you will most likely gain weight. If you are exercising, you will burn excess calories.

The best time to weigh yourself is in the morning before you eat breakfast. If you allow yourself a brownie once a week, it will keep you from binging on them.
