Bit torrent only way to go try bitcomet.com and then use a site like isohunt.com torrenttyphoon.com blah blah blah

torrents are much more safe than say limewire or regular p2p the only thing is you need to pay attention to weather or not the file is password protected.
this should get you were you want to be unless your asking how to rip your personal DVD's then you need ripping software. like dvd decryper i think thats how it's spelled. anyhow that should help to answer both questions for ya

You will need a "dvd ripper." It is a program that will rip the video off the DVD and onto your computer as a playable video file. If you type free dvd ripper into a search engine, you will not be dissappointed.
