Why God allows mentally retarded child to this world? What can they do and how can God work in them?

Please don't submit answers that sound something like "Only God knows". I prefer a more logical and biblical answers. Thanks

I think as a Christian we of course know how we should treat others including mentally retard but the question is more to what if you are one of them...how can you reach out to Him or even fulfill His commision without even knowing how to think properly? Making disciple of all nation is only for certain people?

oh, yes, god messed with these kids' chromosomes, gave them heart defects and other major health problems, tears apart their parents' marriages, gave the kids huge cognitive issues that impair their learning, their social interactions, and their ability to support themselves all so that he can teach the rest of us something. that god is one lousy bastard, isn't he.

gee, why does he have parents burn their kids with cigarettes? why did he leave all the nicaraguans buried up to their waists in mud so they could bake to death after hurricane mitch?

Mentally retarded people are just as capable of living a happy fulfilled life just as us who were born with no handicaps! Depending on the severity of course! Everyone is born into this world under different circumstances! You might want to stop being afraid of the handicapped, and take some time to learn about what makes them different! Honestly if you took the time you might learn that there lives are very happy! If you were born with no sight then it wouldn't really affect your life because you never knew life any different. It's the same with a person who is mentally retarded!

Based on my past experiences with the mentally retarded children, I see the godliness in human nature, untaminated by parental or elder's conditionings. They respond and react truely and naturally. They receive and give love. They're always at bliss.
But they have emotions and intellect as well. A soul like every one of us has, but in a body that don't physically work for their souls.
Having retarded children in a family is sad. But that is a lesson for the parents to learn about themselves, instead of learning about the child. Some parents respond with unconditional love and care. Some parents respond with inert, guilt, irresponsibility, and hatred. Some with too much emotional attachment...etc. All reactions are a mirror to see our true selves.
Mentally retarded children who live in their own families are far smarter than those who are placed in foster homes. This is the miracle of love.

There as some souls that God loved, and chose from before, (If you do not understand this much you will not understand the rest)

The elect which are selected from before are very special souls. But they are not the only ones!
Some God loved so much he can not let them be from him for long, they die at birth. There are others that he loves that he dose not want to take the chance to lose. So they will never reach the age of accountability. (Age of accountability is generally about the age of 12 to 14 when you are accountable to sin)
These individuals will never sin and they will enter heaven pure!
It may seem harsh to us but in the scheme of things this life is so short, and forever is a long time with the lord.

That's a really good question actually...
all i can say is that in the bible it says the God never gives us more than we can possibly handle, and he is there with us through the hard times, so in my opinion mentally retarded children and adults are some of the strongest people... it's like, i was in a hospital recently for one reason or another, and i seen all these kids in wheel chairs and really sick and stuff, and i honestly don't think that i would be able to deal with that sort of stuff... i really have a lot of respect for them and i'm sure that God has a plan for them to be able to except the Lord also...

Satan is the god of this world & the sins of us all have caused many problems to come on this world.
We can develope Godly character by working with them , God works with us all the time even though we don't realize it & many times we're not all there!
Also when Jesus Christ returns to this earth & the Kingdom of God is set up then all these problems will be gone! The Kingdom of God will be perfect! Satans world is not.
The child who is mentally retarded will have a perfect working mind then much better than our own is right now!

Excuse me, but who is to say that a mentally retarted child is bad!? Ive worked with many kids in my life, worked at a day care where we had many autistic kids and let me say they are VERY loved by many they know and sometimes we can learn from them..
A mentally retarted child is merely different from you, not wrong. Do I have to cut into the whole, "Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?" song that the Disney Pocahontus sings to John Smith? Start to love more than deny. That is an insult to me. I know many mentally retarted children. My mom has a mental disorder... think about what your saying, before you say it.
Maybe if you take time out of your "right" life and spend time with these children you'll know what a blessing they truly are.
