Why do women lie so much?

because we're afraid that if we tell the truth people might think less of us...or something along those lines...at least thats what one of my profs told our class

I don't lie. I dislike people who lie and therefore I practice what I preach. The *only* time I feel it's ok to lie, is if the truth can be more harmful than the lie. And that has to be under extreme circumstances.

For the most part women lie because they don't want to hurt the feelings of other people. On the other hand, men lie to cover their back and to avoid unpleasantness (to themselves).
