Well it's over, Ding took it 9 - 6. I was really hoping that Ronnie would win too, he was in tremendous shape this week.
But we have to give credit where credit is due - Ding Junhui is absolutely incredible player. He's only 19 years old and has already accomplished so much in such short time and nowdays he is among very best. Tonight he proved that once again. Ronnie was playing better in first part of both sessions but Ding kept his concentration the entire time and responded excellently. He turned 3-1 deficit into 5-3 lead in the afternoon and then this evening Ronnie came out blazing and squared it all up at 6-6, but after the interval Ding came back strong for the second time and took the last 3 frames to win the championship.
All in all it was a very entertaining final match and if this tournament is a sign of things to come I think that snooker fans can look forward to an outstanding season.
And by the way, I have no doubt that Ronnie will do much better then last year.
