Im just curious how wiccans view the events of 911? Of course as a tragedy, but how else? What forces of nature aligned to make this happen? Do you look at politics? The stars? the four elements? Any insight would help this curious being :) thanks.

I'm Pagan, but not Wiccan. I saw 9/11 as a horrible tragedy fueled by hatred. I am also very angry at Bush for not reading his "Osama Bin Laden Determined to Strike in the US" briefing. I feel that this could have been prevented, and it is a horrible tragedy that more wasn't done beforehand. I looked at politics in this event to explain the "why." I look towards God/dess to help cope and give strength to those who need it.

A good friend of mine who is Wiccan was very disturbed by this, as was everyone else I know. She wrote a beautiful poem to express her sadness, but I don't think she thought it was "in the stars" for it to occur.

My other Wiccan friends keep up to date in the news and politics, so they saw this as an tragedy caused by humans, nothing supernatural.

Nature, forces? 9-11 was a human CHOICE action-we are not controlled by the planets ,the position of the stars and so on. 9-11 occurred because Bin Laden wants no Non-Muslims in Muslim lands and he's a extremist that believes the end justifies the means.

Wiccans believe in free will just like any other religion, even if something is "in the stars" or "in the cards" you still have free will and can change things. I don't believe the future is set. Its so sad so many people had to die because of the hatred and ignorance us humans are capable of.

How do Christians view this? Do they somehow rationalize that "god" wanted 9/11 to happen?

I really don't know if you're a Christian trying to marginalize "wiccans", but your religions is at least as stupid as theirs.

Offense meant.

Wiccans are not of God, so they will use the elements and stars to answer this one. It was an abomination on us by a sect who thinks they're religious. Wiccans don't look as deeply into politics as we others would.

Its a shame really what happened. I believe whats sad is that it happened out of religious intolerance, a crime of which many christians are also guilty, even though they are not willing to learn.
