Read this article...are we supposed to feel sorry for her?

Immigration enforcement officers do not plan to enter a church where a single mother sought sanctuary rather than submit to deportation to Mexico, a government official said Friday.
But Elvira Arellano, 31, and her supporters say only a stay of deportation will ensure that she and her 7-year-old son, an American citizen, are not forcibly removed from the Adalberto United Methodist Church.
"The situation doesn't change," Arellano said in Spanish.
Arellano has been living in the church since Tuesday, when she was supposed to surrender to authorities for deportation.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials had said they would apprehend Arellano at a time and place "of their choosing" and that nothing prevented them from going into the church.
But on Friday, a government official close to the case said immigration agents have decided against entering the church to remove Arellano.

Another anchor baby--- Hell no I don't feel sorry for her...

And her son is not a U.S. citizen if she is not one.. The 14th Ammendment does not pertain to illegals... Sorry, that's just the way it goes..

So if I were to be speeding at 120 mph in a high speed chase (which is a felony by the way), and I ran to the church, the cops couldn't come in and arrest me?

Bullsh!t!!

No. This spits in the face of every immigrant that made the legal steps to get into and stay in this country. It spits in the face of all Americans who keep the laws of this land. If we don't have the guts to get her out than let the church take care of them. The boy could be schooled and I'm sure the mother could find some chores to do around there. I personally predict a huge increase in churches being built to house the illegal immigrants and all the others who break the law. Finally! The pulpits full of just the congregation every pastor wants! What a horrible precedent this sets. Where are those who are constantly shouting about the separation of church and state?

I think they need to serve an arrest warrant. Send her and her kid home and have done with the whole charade. Don't make churches magnets for this stuff, just start enforcing the law...

Why would anyone that is not insane feel sorry for the illegal alien, she is a CRIMINAL..... The church members are CRIMINALS also for aiding and abetting her in a criminal enterprise.

The government is also acting in a criminal fashion by refusing to enforce the law. ICE is not what you would call a competent arm of the law. Too many times they have said they are too busy to do their job.... it is that way with all law enforcement agencies anymore. "To protect and serve", that is BS, they protect criminals by not doing their job...

No, she is a criminal, and she has made her son into a criminal as well. She needs to be drug out of there by her hair if needed, and sent home with her son whom is illegal because she is! I am tired of people helping criminals.

Why should I bother to work. Hell, I should just rob a bank. Oh, here come the cops, Well I will just duck into a Church. How damn stupid!

This is the heart of the government - enforce laws when it only politically furthers them

Why can't she take him with her? Damn you just opened up a new book I think... Does that mean her son can't go to Mexico b/c he is a citizen of the United States? And she can't stay in the United States b/c she is not a citizen?

Yes, this is pretty sad, and I do feel sorry for her.

However, she is free to take her child with her to her country - being deported does not mean automatic separation; It should not be an issue. Too sad that this child is too young to sponsor his own mother.

When you choose the illegal route, you have to be ready to handle the consequences. :((

That is, Bullshit... I dont care where, she hid......
If we was to shoot, a bunch of illegals, and tried, to hide in a church, you better believe they would, come in after us.

She is breaking the law, just as we would be. She should not be, able to hold up in a church, or any other, place.....
What kind of Bull Sh!t, is this.
