I use protein shakes -- I like the Body Fortress brand. They stir easy and taste about as good as the more expensive stuff. EAS also makes a reasonably priced Whey Protein. What's nice about the body fortress is that it mixes nicely with a spoon (although it has more cholesterol than other Whey proteins).

Does the protein make a difference? I guess so. I use it when I feel i need to supplement some protein in my diet. Sometimes I eat a more carbohydrate based meal and want to add some protein to it. If that's the case, I'll drink a shake.

Most of the shakes are just a convenient way to get some additional protein in your diet. You can get the same effect, more or less, by eating a can of tuna or other high-protein source (say milk and peanut butter).

If you've got the extra money and need the convenience of a shake -- go for it. But don't expect protein shakes to be some magical elixir... I have yet to find one that is.

Good luck.

Protein shakes are a great supplement to any workout.

Your first goal is to create a workout plan, determine which protein products are good for you.

I am a distributor and sell Herbalife products and had many customers purchase protein based products due to choices in flavors and how it is a supplemental to a healthy workout.

Overall the choice is yours.
