I seen a website called www.petakillsanimals.com. On the site, they have a news story from CNN and a local NC news channel that says two PETA employees went to a NC animal shelter, and took alot of animals promising the shelter workers that they were going to find the animals loving homes. Instead, they killed all of them and threw the dogs/cats into a dumpster. It is very shocking. It even has pictures of the inside of the van, the dogs/cats, and a quote from the manager of the grocery store, saying that he was finding animals in the trash for weeks. Also they have vet records that PETA killed over 90% of the animals they had at their headquarters, and only adopted out 235 animals there in 2005. I thought PETA was a no kill origation. If you donate to PETA like me you might want to see this, It it is making me think of never donateing to them again. I warn you, it is graphic!!!!

i found a taped interview on line. a radio personality was interviewing an officer of PETA..He stated that they were planning on bombing chain fast food restaurants.
Just think what kind of terrorists they would be if they had more money.

All the animal rights groups (HSUS, PeTA, IDA, ADL, DDAL,etc) are like that. They lie to get your money and then use that money to end animal ownership.

PeTAs euthanasia rate is nearly 90%. What did people THINK they were doing??? What did they think those huge freezers at their headquarters were for? Anybody remember the AR motto "better dead than fed"???

Not surprised at all.

People - It is NOT just PeTA, but the orgs I listed above and many others. Their goals are all the same. NO MORE PETS!

This incident was not years ago, it was last year. They should be in court before to much longer. The litter of kittens came from a Vet who was told they would be rehomed, instead they ended up in a dumpster. The animal rights orgs are anti-animal, there is a BIG difference between animal welfare and animal rights.

I've heard about that, and I honestly believe that PETA do more harm than good- whether that story is true or not.

They're also launching a campaign against Petsmart. They don't want them to sell birds at all anymore...funny though... Earlier they were angry at Petco until they stopped selling larger birds like Macaws. Most Petsmarts have never sold those birds, and yet PETA isn't trying to stop the sale of birds in general, only at Petsmart. Something seems a little sketchy there- doesn't it? Even if Petsmart stopped selling them, people would just buy them somewhere else. I think it would be more productive to launch a public awareness campaign simply talking about better bird care. Like posters that say "Did you know most types of finches are social? They also require lots of room..." etc. etc. At least the birds might receive better care.

This is also coming from a vegetarian. I will admit that PETA have some great online resources and tips for how to go/stay vegetarian or vegan, but for the most part they are quite hypocritical. I believe in the cause of animal welfare, but I do not support PETA.

It's an old story. Yes, it's true. The FBI has ID'd PETA as an animal terrorist organization. Penn & Teller (sp?) did an expose on them in their series Bull$hit.

I'd say that saying, "PETA killed over 90% of the animals" is being quite generous to them. I've heard that it was far greater than that. According to the Penn & Teller episode, they spent over $9K on a freezer, that they put animal carcasses in. But... there are many who believe that PETA really stands for People Eating Tasty Animals.

At my input there are 18 answers posted, I was unaware of this activity. I have never felt comfortable about some of the animal rights activists.

True, the unwanted pet population is mankind's fault and responsibility, but to take away our beloved friends. Let them try to walk up into my home and touch my animals.

I am a animal lover and I will get very defensive of all animals, I am also a realist and a meat eater (also wear leather ~not furs).

I've known about the Peta scam for a while now another employee exposed them for having bought a large freezer unit that could only be used for killing animals

That was like a year or so ago that came out and YES it is TRUE.. Worse yet they were putting them to sleep in the back of the van when caught.

peta has been doing it for a very long time and there is proof if you research it further. peta SUCKS the life out of animals and people. peta wants every animal left to be free, they want ALL household pets illed and none allowed to be owned every again..

peta makes me sick, look at how many "stars" have quit endorsing them since the truth finally came out? peta is EVIL..

You mean the Animal rights terroist orginazation? yeah I haev heard of them. they are all a bunch of whackos. They scream and yell and complain about animals rights and try to keep us hunters and fisherman off the water and out of the woods yetthey kill so many animals. As a hunter and fisherman, I only kep or kill what I will eat. Period. PETA needs to get a grip and sit back wiht a nice steaming hot cup of shut the Fork up!

Yes. Did you know that Newkirk the founder of PETA had a job for years a a animal shelter where she said she would go in early to kill animals.
Here is a quote from Ingrid Newkirk PETA’s president.
“I don’t use the word “pet.” I think it’s speciesist language. I prefer “companion animal.” For one thing, we would NO LONGER ALLOW BREEDING.. People could not create different breeds. There would be no pet shops. If people had companion animals in their homes, those animals would have to be refugees from the animal shelters and the streets. You would have a protective relationship with them just as you would with an orphaned child. But as the surplus of cats and dogs (artificially engineered by centuries of forced breeding) declined, eventually companion animals would be phased out, and we would return to a more symbiotic relationship – enjoyment at a distance — Ingrid Newkirk, PETA’s President, quoted in The Harper’s Forum Book, Jack Hitt, ed., 1989, p.223. “
As you can see she wants to remove our rights to own pets.
If you own a pit bull:
The following are Ingrid Newkirk's own words:
"People have no idea that at many animal shelters across the country, any "pit bull" who comes through the front door goes out the back door -- in a body bag...This news shocks and outrages the compassionate dog-lover. ..Here's another shocker: People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, the very people who are trying to get you to denounce the killing of chickens for the table, foxes for fur, or frogs for dissection, supports the pit bull policy..."
Those who argue against the euthanasia policy for pit bull dogs are naive.
I have scars on my leg and arm from my own encounter with a pit. Many are loving and will kiss on sight, but many are unpredictable.
People who genuinely care about dogs won't be affected by a ban on pits. They can go to the shelter and save one of the countless other breeds and lovable mutts sitting on death row through no fault of their own.
We can only stop killing pits if we stop creating new ones. Legislators, please take note.

I honestly don't believe the information on that website. It has no contact information besides an email form which makes me skeptical about its authenticity. PETA provides an address, phone number, as well as email address all visible on their front page.

And what you've got to remember is that a lot of people disagree on controversial topics, and PETA has always been big on fighting (and fighting loudly) for their side in many a controversial topic. When you start to do stuff like this, you're gonna get a lot of hate mail and people will attack you in whatever way they think is most effective. Thus, a petakills website, etc.

I love cats and dogs, and any number of other small fuzzy creatures. But I do not love PETA. They all seem extremely unstable, and that a couple of them went and did this murder spree of animals only speaks to that bizarre nature. Weird bunch of folks who do bad street theater and self-indulgent activism, I'd rather give my $$$ to the Humane Society or the ASPCA. Less loonies, more legitimate caretaking.

My cats agree.
