They are not taboo topics in my church and should be discussed. We are to honor our bodies by not dirtying them with sex outside of marriage or eat so much that we need two pews to sit in. No sarcasm intended on either. It's biblical that we shouldn't overindulge in anything...food, alcohol, smoking, playing games...whatever it is. Everything in moderation. [If you're married then "moderation" in your sex life is your business---your moderation may be 3 x a day. If you are not married, then you are to not have sex until you are. Hell isn't worth it.]

I saw a pastor give a service once and he was asking a bunch of questions that were supposed to be the thoughts of other people. One was "What? I am only supposed to have sex with my wife? Only after marriage?" He then went on to say that sometimes unpleasant topics need to be addressed, but that's all the further he went into it. Also, almost everyone at that service was way over 60 and mostly widows! My husband and I were the only young people there, and we've always been faithful. (We're not Christian, but we went with his grandma, I think.)

I also recall the pastor talking about gluttony being a sin, but he and his wife were by far the largest people in the church!

Funny you should mention that.........

Sex on the Sabbath
A man wonders if having sex on the Sabbath is a sin because he is not sure If sex is work or play. So he goes to a priest and asks for his opinion on This question.
After consulting the bible, the priest says, " My son, after an Exhaustive search, I am positive that sex is work and is therefore not Permitted on Sundays."
The man thinks: " What does a priest know about sex?"

So he goes to a Minister, who after all is a married man and experienced in this matter. He queries the minister and receives the same reply. Sex is work and Therefore not for the Sabbath!

Not pleased with the reply, he seeks out the ultimate authority : a man of Thousands of years tradition and knowledge. In other words, he goes to a Rabbi.
The Rabbi ponders the question, then states, " My son,sex is definitely Play." The man replies, "Rabbi, how can you be so sure when so many others
Tell me sex is work?"
The Rabbi softly speaks, "If sex were work, my wife would have the maid Do it."

Typically, pastors reserve that conversation to little boys.
