They're gifted scavengers, and will do fine without your help. Feeding them would eventually cause them to rely on you, which can cause any number of problems.
I'm partial to coyotes because I'm Native American and they figure in my culture. Not sure if they're good luck if you spot one, but they are revered as our Trickster in the legends.

As someone who recently had a pet destroyed by a wild animal, no, you shouldn't feed the coyotes. I think it's great that you are compassionate and want to feed a hungry animal, but if you feed it, it will only continue to come back to your home/neighborhood and then it might wind up eating someones pet dog or cat. Plus, you don't want it to become dependant on people. And if it get used to humans feeding it, it might walk up to another human who wouldn't be as nice as you and who might shoot it! It's a wild animal and it needs to continue hunting wild prey. Also, it could have rabies and you don't want to be responsible for luring a rabies infected animal into your neighborhood. Coyotes are always pretty thin- at least I've never seen a fat one. It probably isn't starving.

If you feed a coyote, it will keep coming around. It can kill cats, small dogs, and if in a pack could kill a small child. You do not want a coyote hanging around. It may be sick also from rabies or something. That could be why it was so thin. Stay away from it.

Not a good idea. By leaving food for it, you'll be encouraging it and more of its kind to come into residential areas. Their fear of people keeps both you and the coyotes safe. Without it, they'll rapidly lose that fear and begin to become a nuisance.
Remember, coyotes are a wild animal, not a domesticated one. Do not make the mistake of looking at a coyote and seeing a dog because they are not.

For safety issues, never feed a wild animal. Feed made for domestic animals can often cause problems for their wild cousins. A wild animal that ventures that close to humans could be sick and Distemper is rampant in the wild canine world and transmissible to domestic dogs as well so there is a health issue as well. Encouraging a wild animal to linger near humans is bad for all involved. Intolerant neighbors have more opportunity to harm the animal and the animal is presented with more opportunities to 'get in trouble'. Plus, this coyote could become dependent on your feeding him and lose valuable food finding skills. Let nature take care of her own....:)

Coyotes love the taste of cat. So if you don't mind the neighborhood cats disappering...
Also, coyotes are not solitary animals. They usually travel in packs. They do most of their hunting at night, so if you wake up and find your garbage strewn everywhere, you know who was busy. They're very wild, so don't even think of making one into a pet, especially if there are children around. Junior might decide to pet the doggy and doggy decides to take off a finger. So my advice is do not feed the wild animals.

I know where i live coyotes are considered pests. They are pretty much good for nothing. Coyotes prefer not to be seen, they are very sneaky, so one that is wondering out in the open would make me think that there was something wrong with it. To answer your question, NO, I would not feed the coyote.

I would never feed a wild animal w/ a food made for domestics. Cat food is for cats. If you start feeding it, it'll keep coming to your door for food. It could become dependant on you. It'll also likely bring all it's freinds. Your neighbors would not like it when their pets start turning up missing.
That said, I do have a fountain in the front yard that was put there as a source of water for the local wildlife, coyotes included.

Please don't feed the coyotes. It only encourages them to hunt in people's yards. Where I live, it's illegal to set food out for wild animals like coyotes.
After finding our pet cat's head, front feet, and intestines in the street, I don't consider it good luck to see a coyote any more.

I love coyotes and all wildlife. But, would you feed a BEAR wandering in your yard? Squirt it with a hose and make it hunt like it's supposed to. Where coyotes are allowed free reign in neighborhoods, there are no cats, not rabbits, no small dogs can be allowed outside, and you might consider keeping small kids in arms reach at all times. It's a wild animal. It doesn't deserve death for being hungry, but don't feed it.
