Well i was on depo for 5 years missed my injection by one day and a fell preggers they tell you that you cant for up to 6 months being of the injection my doc told me i was 1 in a million but my little girl is health and runs around all the time and im about to have my second and a had the depo after having my first. It what your body is like there is a sight on the net which will help you with any question but my feelings are that you can fall preggers on any contraception you just have to be care full. And if you think that you are pregnant go to your doc and ask for a blood test and if you still have that feeling just ask for an ultrasound see my hormones were high due to the injection so the only way we could tell was to have an ultrasound.

Have to laugh at Firemed's response. If DP is 100% effective, why the two forms of BC? lol You can get pregnant if sperms comes in any contact with your genital area by any form. You do not even have to have penetration to conceive. Virgins have become impregnated by allowing a male to ejaculate on them verses having sex. Those little buggars called sperm are swift strong swimmers. Only sure fired way of not getting pregnant is to keep sperm away from your genital area. Doesn't matter what form of BC you are on. I would not worry about birth defects unless you have recessive genes or you do not take very good care of yourself. The home pregnancy test are cheap and highly accurate. Buy one if it is positive see your doctor, and unless you are married, do not have sex without a condom and a spermicidal foam containing non oxynol 9 (which kill the aids virus) unless you are trying to conceive. You could catch something worse than a baby next time.

I got pregnant 6 months after I had just ONE shot and I was told at age 20 that I'd never be able to conceive (I was taking the shot to regulate my horribly irregular cycle). After just one shot, I started bleeding a few weeks before I was supposed to get the second so I didn't get it. I bled for 7 months before it finally stopped. I got pregnant the following week. I'm not the only one, either... I've spoken to many women this has happened to.

During my first two months of pregnancy, I did two rounds of Provera as well... the drug they give women to kick start their cycle.

My son has tested as gifted in his school, 3 grade levels above his age-grade, so it didn't do him any harm. If you want to know if you're pregnant, pee on a test stick. The hormone in Depo won't matter on the pregnancy test.

Contraceptive method Effectiveness
Vasectomy Almost 100 per cent
Female sterilisation Almost 100 per cent
The Pill Almost 100 per cent
Contraceptive injection 'Jab' Almost 100 per cent
IUS (Mirena) 98 to 99 per cent
IUD (the coil) 97 to 98 per cent
The mini-Pill Arond 98 per cent
Male condom 90 to 98 per cent
Female condom 90 to 98 per cent
Cap (diaphragm) with spermicide 90 to 96 per cent
So as you can see it is very hard to get pregnant if you have taken the jab ever 12 weeks(less then 1% chance).
If you are worried go and see and you gp.

No BC is 100% effective. Make sure you know ALL the risks, educate yourself and consider two forms of BC

You would go to the doctors and have a blood test, or try an at home test.
