the book, davinci code, used a blending of fact and fiction to create a story which uses the 'what if' type of theme. it the same method used in most fiction novels, that is thee what if this happened scenario. he loosely used certain real facts, bent to fit the story line, and used them for actual facts. for example, the opus dei is a real catholic group with headquarters in new york. his description of why the followers of opes dei abused themselves through use of whips and chains and leg units was mainly fiction, but may have some basis in fact but only on a very limited scale. the same is true about mary and jesus being married. both were real people, and mary did go to europe, but no evidence exists that they were ever marrried. hence the catholic church would seek to keep such information from becoming public if it were true. as for jesus going to india, there is some evidence, however vague, that he did so and he even had a name that was not jesus during his time there, unfortunatly i cannot remember what it was. this information come from old hindu texts and were written at about the time jesus lived. he was also suppose to have spent some time in egypt studying in the mystery schools, but there is no actual record of this ever occurring. remember, from the age of 12 until the start of his ministry at about age 30 ther is nothing recorded about jesus that is recognized as factual. that is a gap of 18 years of which nothing is known about him or what he was doing.

Jesus and India nope. There is not one shred of evidence to support that Jesus went to India. If he had his enemies would have used his travels as part of their accusations. That is a line that believers in Eastern religions use as a justification to take the words of a 1st century Jew in Palestine and take them out of context. So that they could inject eastern philosophies into His words. It would be like a drug pusher inventing that he have given Martin Luther King drugs, and then saying the "I have a dream" was MLK endorsing drugs that cause hallucinations.

There is scholarly historical research that disproves DaVinci at every step. The early church fathers were already settling and mostly agreeing on the books of the new testament separately across the Roman world in the 2nd century. Long before any councils. The Gnostic gospels historically were written near 250 ad. There is a piece of the Gospel of John that is dated as from before 130 ad and it is a copy (indicating the original would probably be older). Well when it comes to creating history after the fact you might want to see the link below for some interesting details. If you make any choices in your life or beliefs because you have read or watched Davinci Code then please do not consider yourself intelligent. At least be honest and say you are just looking for an escuse to not do what is right in God's eyes. i.e. Ignoring the Bible or living in immorality.

The davinci code says that many gospels weren't included in the Bible and were covered up. These were Gnostic Christians, research this, none of these scrolls have been covered up. Also it says that these scrolls contains things about women having more rights etc. One of the scrolls actually says that Jesus said that women had to become men to get into Heaven, wow. Something Dan Brown failed to investigate?

It also says that Catholics put the Bible together in i think 390 AD? correct me if I am wrong. How could they do this while thousands of Bibles were circulating around different countries at the time? Do a recall? - they did put together 'A Bible' - it has about 10 or so more books then the originals Bible, and more and less chapters added onto previous books. Also much of true Christian doctrine (the Bible) contradicts Catholicism, then why did they use it? (eg the states of Heaven and Hell which they teach are unbiblical.) - Perhaps these things didn't enter Mr. Browns mind?

The dead sea scrolls, were claimed by Dan Brown that were found in a cave, with paintings on the wall but Catholics (Jesuit priests) covered it up. If so they would have also covered up the scrolls, these scrolls contradict the 10 commandments that catholicism uses. - Perhaps another thing Dan Brown didn't look into? Also there were about 11 caves, write next to the sea, they were more like holes then caves.

No no I think he just wanted to create a nice fictional book which would sell copies and make him rich. He sold many copies in about 3 years, too bad the Bible still sold more.

Please if you think its fact research his claims. I think it has an interesting story, and alot of which he wrote about the Church (which is catholic and does not represent true Christianity) were very interesting and true.

Fiction! It is blashemy and a deception at its highest degree.Dan Brown weaved a highly imaginative( but still nothing but a crap of lies) story combined with murder, sex and intrigue. How do we know? Faith is the answer! The Word Of God has many writers over a long period of time but only one author, that is, God, Himself. In other words, the Holy Writ is preserved and true. The Da Vinci Code says means that Lord Jesus is a mortal; not God. Whereas Lord Jesus is 100% human AND 100% God. It also mentioned that '' Emperor Constantine was a life-long pagan who was baptized on his deathbed and financed a new Bible to consolidate his power as an emperor. He embellished those false gospels which made him godlike and omitted those which portrayed him as a mere mortal.'' What an outrageous lie! It is for sure that Constantine became a Christian 25 years before his death! Moreover, he is but a CREATURE, whereas He is the CREATOR. Understand? This DaVinci thing has been beaten into the ground so much, I wonder why people still ask about it. It's sold in the Fiction section, my friend, it is not a real story.
