Because their religion is based off arrogance and hypocracy.

Good Question. That is the beauty of Christian life. Our "FREE WILL" effectively works when contradicton is present. Then we are given the chance to learn and choose which one right thing are we to do or to believe. Oftentimes we come together to clear matters up and decide which common answers will work out better for all.
I have learned one good phrase from my dead uncle, " WHEN TWO PERSONS ALWAYS AGREE, WILL YOU NOT CONSIDER THAT SOMEONE IS UNNECCESSARY?"
Try also looking at other religious denominations. do not particularized Christians because Muslims are also divided by their contradicting beliefs, Buddhists and Hindus are not spared by it. And I do not believe that in your own household there is no contradiction that arises from time to time which could also be healthy.

Christians have different answers and beliefs because people, generally, are different. What I mean is that people accept, percieve, and learn differently. Christians that go to the same church all their lives even have differring opinions.

I guess that is why there are so many Christian denominations. For example, Lutherans, Christian Reformed, Baptist, and even Southern Baptist all are Christians, but they believe in different aspects of the Christian Faith. I guess the one thing that does bind Christians...I hope.....is the fact that Christ is Lord.

It is not the Faith that makes Christians contradict eachother, but the fact that we are not perfect and we are sinners that cannot see the whole picture. That is why Christ is our Savior.

Would you expect opinion to be the same? Faith is more artistic that mathematical. Numbers are defined concepts so the definitions are consistent. Faith, values and attitudes change depending on a person experiences and their interpretations of those experiences.

Think of your own opinion about a music group from 10 yrs ago. Were they hot then, are they hot now? You see its your opinion that changes because your experiences have changed your attitudes.

So why would you expect Christians from all over to have the same answers to today's questions, based on the life of Jesus who lived 2000 years ago. Actually I think its amazing that opinions are as similar as they are; and the fact that we have some very large Churches still living in some kind of communion is outstanding.

Because Christians are people who believe in Christ, they are called CHRISTians. But there are many different religions of Christianity and they all differ from one another in many different ways. I can't tell you all the ways in which they differ, but a prime example would be that Catholic people baptize their infants where Born Again Christians do not. However, they are all Christians because they believe in Christ. That explains the different answers.

Because, contrary to stated opinion, the Bible does NOT answer every question. When people force it to answer questions beyond its scope, ambiguity results. Worse yet, with a little digging and careful verse selection, you can get the Bible to contradict itself innumerable times. Proof-texting is a favorite way for people to justify their own unchristian behavior. Find a verse that sounds like you, pluck it out of its context and you can justify anything!

IMHO, people need to do a little less guiding of oher people's lives and more tending to their own character.

There are so many sects, with so many different "interpretations" that many people, myself included, don't think that there really is a coherent thing called "christianity" anymore.

Mormons, Catholics, and Baptists, (for example) have moved in such amazingly different directions that I just don't think it's useful to say that they're all reflective of the same general religion anymore.

You will often see contradicting answers because what the Bible has to say is, in most cases, diametrically opposite to what is believed by commercial Christianity. For example:

Good people go to heaven when they die.

No they don't.

No one has gone to heaven except the Son of man (John 3:13).

Our soul lives forever.

No, it doesn't.

Souls die (Ezekiel 18:4).

Mary was a perpetual virgin.

No, she wasn't. She had a big family. (Luke 18:19).

In salvation no works are needed.

Yes, works are needed (James 2:26).

It's okay to call priests father.

No it isn't (Matthew 23:9).

Because Men want to have their own say about the bible, so to speak. How many different (for example-Baptist) churches are there? When they started they pretty much believed in the same thing, but when they disagreed on something they would break off and start their own church. It's that way with alot of churches. You don't agree, break off and form your own belief. The bible says that there is only one truth and one religion.

Absolutely, not all Christians believe what other Christians believe. I grew up a Christian Scientist (I'm not any longer) and there is nothing Christian about that religion. and so it goes....

I believe the reason is because a lot of christians out there havn't studied the Bible as much as they could and base their answers on what they "think" the Bible may be saying. It's a huge problem. I am making it my mission to read and understand as much of the Bible as I can, so I can give accurate answers.
