What I meant from that term is that one has proved that he is really committed to his profession which is proven from the long years of working.

Context:

The requirement needed to join the Institute as a member is that one must have had a long journey into their profession, either they come from the government institutions or private sectors (i.e. business enterprise, educational and social institutions).

If it is not good English term, can you please suggest any alternatives?

No. It doesn't sound right in English.

Try this:

In order to qualify for membership of the institution, applicants must have extensive industry experience in relevant government agencies, education institutions, social services providers or private enterprise.

If you want, replace "extensive" with "ten years" (or whatever).

I question the need to mention the different industry sectors, because they seem to cover every conceivable type of paid employment. It should be sufficient just to say:

In order to qualify for membership of the institution, applicants must have extensive professional experience.

"The requirement to join the Institute as a member is by being a journeyman of one's chosen profession. These professionals come from either the government institutions or private sectors."(

Hope this helps.
