The answer is 54.545454... mph. Say for example that Atlanta is 300 miles away. Then the first trip takes 5 hours, and the return takes 6 hours. That means you drove 600 miles in 11 hours, for an average of 600/11 = 54.54545454... miles per hour.

If Atlanta is 600 miles away, the numbers become 10 hours and 12 hours, so you drove 1200 miles in 22 hours, for an average of 1200/22 = 600/11 = 54.54545454...

No matter how far away Atlanta is, the answer will always be 54.54545454... or 54 6/11 miles per hour.

54.5 mph

If you consider the trip one way to be 300 miles, it took 5 hours there and 6 hours back.

Then take 600 miles divided by (per) 11 hours.
