I'd be royally peeved. Your 21st birthday is a milestone birthday. The next one doesn't really come until you're 30 and then 40, etc. It's a special day. Even if it wasn't your 21st, you're his girlfriend and deserving of some pampering and some royal treatment. Even at my husband's poorest, he still managed to do well by me for birthdays, anniversaries, and other holidays. He'd make me cards using everyday things like printed shopping bags, cardboard from boxes, flowers he'd picked while on campus---you get the point. If he couldn't get his hands on anything to make a card, he'd write me a poem, pick some flowers, and make me dinner. It's your 21st birthday. He can't say he couldn't make dinner and buy a good, cheap wine b/c you can do that for under $20 He's known about your birthday for what I assume is a while, so he could have been saving spare change to save up for it. I have a guy friend like him and he's heading for a divorce b/c he pulled that when he had no money and continued to do it after they had money and were married. He was just cheap. You can be poor and still not be "cheap". It's not the $, it's the thought and the effort. You should be a priority and it doesn't sound like he even treats you like an afterthought. I'm sorry he ruined your birthday! Happy Birthday anyways!

My boyfriend did not even bother to call on my 21st. He said happy birthday a few days later when I called him. So things could be worse. We ended up breaking up a few months after that because of the long distance.

It is normal to feel this way. You must understand though guys don't always know when to be all cute and mooshy. You can't really blame them though. To get a guy as good as that would have to be raised by a wonderful woman. They just don't think the way we do. That is the nurture part about us, guys don't have that in them. That's why we rule and boys suck. But we love them anyway.

What do you love more? him? or a card?
Did he at lest SAY happy BDay? if not, kill him,
If he did, forgive him and get over it, thats the way he is.
A card is just a card, a man is just a man.
If ya love him ya love him.
No silly peice of paper will make you love him more.
but will not having one REALLY make you love him less?

If money is the problem, ohh well. no one has any these days.
If he didnt have time, forgive him.
If he forgot, crucify him.
you asked for someones opinion, I gave it.

I don't know about your whole relationship, just the missing birthday card. But I would say that the relationship is in trouble. You want love rather than only sex because it is of greater value.

All he had to do was get a card that is not much to ask for. Maybe he forgot maybe he did'nt I don't know both sies of the story but your point of view leads me to believe that he is just using you. Dump his *** and get yourself a new bf who cares and falls for you. And while your looking use him for your needs (if you know what i mean ;)

there is no doubt in my mind that, if he knows that you like cards and didnt get you one on your bday, you are then wasting your time. money or no money, doing something special for the someone you love on their day is priceless.... hes a tool

No it is not o.k. to feel like you are worth nothing. You deserve a guy who is thoughtful, caring, sentimental and who puts you on a pedestal as his main focus to keep you happy.
