Hi there...cats need time when being introduced to one another. It's best to keep them apart at first (usually a week is enough time) in order to feel they have control of their space and feel safe. Then switch them to each other's rooms/space so that each can smell the other cats presence. Later leave the door opene and observe them coming into the same room. If they begin to express aggression try distracting them with a toy or a food treat that isn't their normal meal food. This sometimes helps a cat to relax their aggression and focus on something that is more worthwhile. If one cat engages in the play and the other wants to as well, allow them to take turns by moving the toy in far apart directions so they don't feel they are overcrowding one another. Playing with an interactive toy over a lengthy time has shown to help cats become more tolerant of the adoptive feline friend. Have some patience as every cat relaxes sooner than others. This truly takes time and patience. Cats are naturally solitary animals so it takes time to introduce them to a new roommate

You didn't say how old they are... ??
Leave them alone somewhere you don't hear them....Just try to give them time to be in the same room and don't let their squabbling bother you!

Think about it... they're male & female. He's trying to let her know he's the BOSS.. ahem! ahem! (sound familiar)...and she's letting him know that she'll have none of that! (familiar too?!! )

YOU HAVE TO be firm to them too! You know, when they start fighting, pick whichever one who started it up and SLAM them down (gently but firmly) on a chair seat with an old towel on it (to let them know this is THEIR space... (where he can sleep )...and say "BE QUIET!"...LOUDLY & FIRMLY...letting him know that YOU are the boss!...& if it's HER...do that to her too!
As soon as they set their own perameters, & they'll get along fine...actually, I'll predict that they will become FIERCELY LOYAL to each other...they'll probably even SLEEP together.

If all fails...just euphanize one!
(just kidding!)

Seriously! they WILL stop this...but right now you are allowing them to be disruptive. As soon as you let them know that YOU aren't having any of this...and MEAN it....they'll "fold". Cat's may be independant etc., but their whole goal in life is to be your comfort.
(ever seen a cat when their human is crying?---the cat is so busy trying to humour the human, and they PURR...so loud...!)

Quit being their slaves. be their BOSS!

maximum cats will finally get alongside, even though it rather is mandatory that they are presented *slowly*. With canines, you could throw them the two in a room, they sniff one yet another, then they are pals. Cats are greater particular approximately their obstacles and private area. ideally, in case you have the gap for this (and the persistence), you will possibly positioned them in separate rooms that are no longer adjacent. After countless hours, change them so they are able to scent one yet another's heady scent, yet do no longer enable them to work out one yet another yet. If this is going nicely, day after right this moment, positioned them in adjacent rooms so they are able to work out one yet another under a door. with a bit of luck they're going to be curious, poking at one yet another playfully. a sprint hissing/growling earlier each and every thing may be ok, yet while the two cat seems rather agitated, pass lower back a step to unadjoining rooms. If it went nicely, then day after right this moment positioned them interior a similar room at the same time and notice what happens. in the event that they look ok, as in smelling one yet another, enjoying, even tough enjoying, keep an eye fixed on them for a at the same time as earlier permitting them to be at the same time unsupervised. in case you notice agitation, hair status up, consistent growling/hissing, separate them lower back. sturdy luck, and revel in! :)

Having two cats in the same household will yield one of two results:

1- they WILL get along.
or
2- they WILL NOT get along.

And, there's not a thing you can do about it.
