Make a list of things stressing you. Cross off the ones you cannot do anything about. Decide one thing each that you can do about the rest. Find a funny movie. Watch it while you eat your favorite food. Laugh yourself silly! Sleep at least 7 hours a night, drink 1/2 your weight in ounces, get at least 10 minutes of sunshine and fresh air a day. Stop drinking caffeine. Laugh at yourself, don't be so hard on yourself. Find 5 things a day to be thankful for.

Mental stress is a common feeling especially when facing a difficult situation. If I was to give any advice I would suggest some sort of relaxation method. Choosing the right option could be the difficult part I find meditation, through relaxing music to work best for me. Otherwise I find working out help relieve the tension that sometimes can be created. By increasing oxygen to the brain you are decreasing the bad hormones that are released during periods of stress. I hope you are able to find a way that works best for you.

Ways to Ease the Stress

Be realistic about the amount of responsibility you can currently handle. "not run faster or labor more than you have strength and means" to handle your responsibilities.

Deal with the cause of the stress. If tension comes from a relationship, talk out your differences. If it comes from an unfinished task, do something toward finishing it.

Use a planning schedule to fit your personality and lifestyle.

Do difficult tasks before easy ones. Work before playing.

Plan on arriving at class, work and appointments a few minutes early.

Speak, eat, drive and move at a more relaxed pace.

Go to bed early and arise early "that your bodies and your minds may be invigorated."

Exercise your body in some way each day.

Eat nutriciously.

Consider how dealing with your current stress will benefit you in the future.

Seek the enjoyment in the doing of things rather than focusing so much on the end result.

Practice in your mind new ways to respond to stressful situations before actually encountering them.

Plan for the future instead of worrying about it. Learn from the past instead of feeling guilty about it.

Schedlue a time each day to nourish your spirit through prayer, reading, meditation and music.

Calm your upset feelings with calming thoughts. Talk to yourself in a positive way when you are experiencing a stressful situation.

Hope for rather than expect events to happen in a certain way.

Respond with a kind "no" to unreasonable requests.

Pray for those who dislike and use you. Forgive others and allow them to grow from their mistakes. (Matthew 5:44)

Look for small ways to help, assist and provide service to others.

Do something each day which will last beyod tomorrow like writing in a journal, teaching a child, sewing a dress, reading a book or giving an act of service.

Cheer for rather than compete with others.

Smile.

Talk with someone about your feelings– anger, sorrow, and other emotions-- even though it may be difficult.

Don't hold yourself responsible for the disastrous event or be frustrated because you feel that you cannot help directly in the rescue work.

Take steps to promote your own physical and emotional healing by staying active in your daily life patterns or by adjusting them.
This healthy outlook will help yourself and your family. (i.e. healthy eating, rest, exercise, relaxation, meditation.)
Maintain a normal household and daily routine, limiting demanding responsibilities of yourself and your family.
Spend time with family and friends.
Participate in memorials, rituals, and use of symbols as a way to express feelings.
Use existing supports groups of family, friends, and church.
Establish a family emergency plan. Feeling that there is something that you can do can be very comforting.

Kick your boy friend in the balls repeatedly. Then surrender totally to feeling compassion for him. Then run around the block naked with your hair on fire. Then get on Yahoo! Answers and bait fundamentalists, atheists, republicans and liberals. If all this fails to relieve your stress, take a hot bubble bath at midnight while playing heavy metal at full volume in stereo.

If you go to a professional, they'll probably give you the same advice.

mental stress is a dreadful decease. we should come out of it immeidately. i have practiced a method which releived my stress to greater extent.

first assume that what all you are doing is controlled by supreme being say god who you like. watching things to taking decisions are being done at the behest of the almighty. you are just doing and doing. you have no role in decision making on any matters. then you start feeling releived from stress. what ever happens to you whether good or bad is the gift of god.

To develop these things, start uttering a name of god internally.

Take time for you every day. Talk to someone about your stresses personally or professionally. Have hobbies and exercise. Laugh often. Accept what you cannot change. Live one day at a time.

well, this problem is acute! it is more severe with "millionaires";
so must be one of them, lucky you!!!

that was lighter side;
you may try - deep breathing to start with; then followed by simple - yogas.
deep breathing - can be done even when you are at works / job / home - while breathing imagine something interesting to you - however funny it might be --- say a MONKEY staring at you and you throw a paper-weight at HIM; and HE is flat !!! that's your stress busted ..........;
Then go out side and enjoy your tea / coffee / ...... ( little practice everyday will help you, more and more)
